  1. He got 28.6% breaking balls actually, but close enough.
  2. I want to agree, but people said the same things about Bautista and Encarnacion in their breakout seasons. You just never know sometimes.
  3. I agree. It was indeed a very strange flight path.
  4. And you're accusing me of jumping to conclusions? Wow
  5. If anything had actually happened, she certainly would have went to law enforcement and taken him for a bunch of money. Women throw around these claims far too often because the consequences are generally positive for them, whether it is true or not. Unfortunately, the consequences can be devastating for someone like Norris due to MLB's continued witch hunt.
  6. The ball was hooking towards left field before it hit this supposed object. I don't see the 'left turn' that they mention on the broadcast, as the ball follows a consistent trajectory. Kiermaier simply fooled the umps by misplaying it so badly.
  7. I thought he was out from the full speed replay, but definitely safe.
  8. It's a shame that we wasted that great baserunning.
  9. Good move. I noted the return of his velocity about a month ago, seems like he is finally fully healthy.
  10. I'm curious to see your list of 15 better teams. I looked at some top 10 lists in the offseason and we were right in that mix, obviously better than the teams in the low teens in my opinion.
  11. We were top 10 before the season started in my opinion.
  12. I'd be a little surprised if he gets there, but they are definitely a candidate. I could see Baltimore picking him up.
  13. I watched him against the Tigers a week or two ago and he looked dominant. It's hard to understand what his problem is this year. Some team may take on his salary.
  14. I'm very confident that your method would only make things look better for Ruth. Trout has other players at his level in any given year (Miggy, JD, Harper, etc.), but Ruth was so far ahead of the rest of the league that he changed the way that the game is played. He was also a high level pitcher. To me, that adds a lot to his resume. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=1920&month=0&season1=1920&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=5,d There is no way to quantify the difference between eras. I obviously know that Trout is 'better', but there's the access to nutrition, exercise, legal performance enhancers, etc. In 50 years, people will be saying the same thing about Trout. The greatest player can only be compared to the best competition available in his era. Babe Ruth is clearly that player for the moment. Besides, it's not even clear that Trout is better than his modern counterpart, Barry Bonds.
  15. I suspect that they will keep him down for the full length of his rehab stint.
  16. Babe Ruth and Mike Trout played in the same league. You can't just ignore players from past.
  17. If there is a GDT can someone link it? Obviously someone on my ignore list made it.
  18. WAR accounts for level of competition...
  19. Babe Ruth has 9 seasons better than Mike Trout's best, so let's hold off on calling him the greatest of all time for now.
  20. He won't carry that kind of BABIP through to the majors obviously, but even at a more manageable .350 level, his line would be a solid .305/.376/.557, which is plenty to get excited about. That estimate assumes that all of his 'lucky' hits were singles, so round down the SLG a touch.
  21. I don't see why that matters unless you think that he was actually trying to hit the pitcher.
  22. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm much more ok with a straight up fight like Bryce Harper did the other day than I am with a cowardly act like sucker punching, ankle stomping, or baseball throwing. The guy who got his ankle stepped on did nothing wrong and was justified in his actions in my opinion. The guy knew he was coming. Had he pulled an Odor then I'd have a problem with it.
  23. Number one pick effect.
