  1. Imagine if that ball bounced away 15 feet to Pham's right as Grichuk rounds third. It's not even close. I think Galvis could possibly even be at third.
  2. This is absolutely outrageous if Grichuk does not score. Some of the worst umpiring we have seen this year in this game.
  3. Come on Drury, knock that down.
  4. Video replay continues to baffle me at times. Why have it at all if they are too afraid to overturn incorrect calls.
  5. Wow he's most certainly out. Good call Jays.
  6. NJH is wrong and can't come up with an informed response so he resorts to childish insults. We've only seen this 1000 times.
  7. He retired. No speculation, just a fact. Would it be differwnt if we had kept him? Maybe, maybe not. A family issue could be the reason he retired now. We have no idea.
  8. That kind of cost is negligible when considering 8 figure salaries. He would have been obligated to be at numerous doctor's appointments, workouts, minor league games, team functions, media availability, and more. We had nothing to gain and everything to lose by releasing him and I said it at the time.
  9. More than that. Tulo has made plenty of money in his career and his obligations to the team paying him are far more than just sitting at home. All we know is that he did retire. Anything else is just speculation. Sure looks like we wasted some money.
  10. We don't really know that. We have seen players give up money to retire. That's entirely speculation on your part.
  11. The first one easily, but the trade history of elite relievers with control would suggest that the values of Stroman and Giles are fairly similar.
  12. Give me Kyle Tucker for Stroman any day.
  13. A 40 man spot isn't worth the salary we are paying. In hindsight, the right move was undoubtedly to keep him.
  14. With Tulo retiring, are we still responsible for his 2020 salary? If so, releasing him was an awfully foolish move in hindsight.
  15. I recall the Cardinals doing it in an extra inning game a whole bunch of times, one of the craziest games I have ever seen. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/18/sports/baseball/18mets.html
  16. Crunchy pb is hard to beat. I like the natural stuff from Bulk Barn. Fun fact: Peanut butter was first made in Canada in 1884. The more well known story of the origin of peanut butter is a myth. It's similar to the first baseball game in 1838 and the later Cooperstown game.
  17. Excellent article about Doc with stories from some favourite former Jays like Casey Janssen, Orlando Hudson, and Aaron Hill. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/unanswered-questions-linger-roy-halladays-cooperstown-celebration/sn-amp/
  18. I only suggested that a similarly ranked prospect (#15) went for a similarly valuable reliever (Hand) last season. Gleyber Torres was also up there when he was traded for Chapman. That kind of trade won't necessarily happen this year but it's perfectly reasonable for Atkins to target a top 20 prospect for Giles. That's the going price for elite relievers with control. Fans outside of this forum wouldn't bat an eye if Giles and say Biagini went for Kirilloff. This is irrelevant and just my opinion, but I think that the gap between the values of Tucker and Kirilloff is much bigger than the 3 spots would suggest. Tucker is putting up elite numbers at a high level like Bichette. Kirilloff is still ranked based on potential like Kelenic and Trammell. He's in a lower tier if you ask me.
  19. The Padres got MLB.com's 15th rated prospect for a reliever worse than Giles and another reliever. There are teams willing to pony up and it's Atkins' job to find them. Kirilloff for Giles and another body would be a very similar trade actually.
  20. Where the hell did I say that? There's no way the Astros would want him back and Stroman alone wouldn't be enough.
  21. I would take that for one of them but certainly not for both. Kirilloff is almost 22 and not exactly lighting it up at AA. He's a very good prospect but not in that elite tier in my opinion. It's too bad the Astros wouldn't want Giles because Kyle Tucker would be an ideal centrepiece.
  22. Times New Roman is still the standard for most science programs and scientific journals and it's the easiest to read in my opinion. There are a lot of nice fonts but Calibri is awful. The world would be a better place without it.
  23. You could make a case for Rickey Henderson as well, especially if you want to factor in the steroid stuff.
  24. Teams would almost certainly want both Groshans and Pardinho in addition to another prospect if we refused Bichette and Pearson.
  25. Other: Blue Jay Not that I think it is really likely, but probably a better bet than any individual team at this point.
