The CFL has it's strong points. It's faster paced and more offense oriented, which I enjoy. I find NFL games can be a bit boring with so many stoppages and breaks for advertisements.
Then there's fun rules like no fair catches and having the backfield in motion. I've never met a football fan that doesn't like those rules better.
The CFL also has more history and better rivalries because the teams play each other several times a season. Go to a Riders-Bombers game and you'll get a European soccer atmosphere. I've seen the Vikings in Green Bay and it's not as good as Regina.
Of course, there's a talent gap, but having fun at games isn't all about talent. Backup NFL players and good CFL players are about the same anyways. It's not like watching amateurs.
I'm not trying to start a debate but that's why I like the CFL. In a nutshell it's a better game played by worse players.
