  1. It's pretty safe to say that Roberto Alomar is not a murderer. Saying that he is as a hypothetical does nothing to further the argument that he should be removed from the Level of Excellence. This isn't something that can be proven absolutely correct or incorrect, but I will stand by that statement. Either way, NJH doesn't understand what he is talking about and it is hilarious how angry he got over being confused.
  2. We received RHP Paxton Schultz as the PTBNL in the Derek Fisher trade. A 14th round pick in 2019, he has barely pitched in affiliated ball.
  3. Tabler says Acuna like the Bryce Harper heckler.
  4. I see far more criticism of our front office than I do people defending them. It also seems that his main employment was with MLB and not so much the Blue Jays.
  5. Except that you rehashed the exact same argument as King and called it a logical fallacy. You made a stupid statement and got called out on it using a term that you don't understand and you are upset. We've been through this song and dance countless times. Continue trying to backpedal if you wish. Your incorrect statements are there for everyone to see, as you said. I'm not going to assume that Alomar committed some outrageous criminal act just because you say so. You show tremendous disrespect and stupidity when you throw out these ridiculous scenarios like they are fact. There's no information out there, so really the only thing to do is look at other cases like this and make an educated guess until there is actual information. Most recently, we have the Jared Porter incident to go from so we know a threshold for MLB to take things kind of action.
  6. Someone in our high performance department needs to be fired. Why is Springer playing if his quad is clearly not at full strength.
  7. It can't be often that two pitchers are traded for one another and then start back to back games the next season.
  8. I am fully aware of what the term means without your copy paste explanation. That should be rather obvious after I correctly identified how both you and King were trying to frame your argument. It's entirely ineffective and inappropriate in this case. We have a pretty good idea of the range of things that Alomar could have done to receive this punishment. Being a mass murderer or serial child rapist clearly doesn't fit within that range. People who think guys like Pete Rose and presumably Roberto Alomar with non criminal transgressions can remain a part of baseball history to some extent would clearly be capable of reevuating their stance should an Aaron Hernandez situation arise.
  9. That's correct actually. Pretending that something is the most extreme scenario in order to indict someone where there are zero details is illogical and wrong, but logic has never been a strong point for either of you
  10. There's a good reason for that. He's never done it before.
  11. The incident was in 2014. That has been released. It could be something as innocuous as a couple of a couple of jokes said to the wrong person or it could be an actual criminal act. I don't expect that we'll ever find out, but my opinion of him won't change either way. The Level of Excellence is for a player's exploits on the field and should have remained that way, but obviously that won't be the case going forward. Maybe we can replace him with John McDonald.
  12. King is full of logical fallacies today. People don't like seeing Alomar's reputation destroyed and a black mark placed on the franchise without knowing what happened. Therefore, those same people don't care about sexual assault victims.
  13. Your argument is a logical fallacy known as reductio ad absurdum. There's not much point in responding to it.
  14. He shouldn't be removed from the Level of Excellence for something he did after his playing career, but I understand ending his employment if there were serious indiscretions in 2014.
  15. I love this. Hopefully we'll see him in the majors some day.
  16. This would be hard to find, but I wonder how many players have hit home runs to all fields in 3 consecutive at-bats.
  17. My mistake. I thought you supported the new extra inning rule. It artificially shortens games, so you don't like watching extra innings by default if you support it.
  18. I checked anyone young with more than 8 home runs on the season and none of them even hit 2, so I'm not sure that their stats are correct. Vlad might be the youngest player ever to do it.
  19. Who was hitting 3 home runs in a game in 1901?
  20. Don't be such a clown. You would have to live under a rock to not be aware of the fan response. You are clearly just being obtuse. Here's a poll of with 5000 respondents and 18% like the 2nd base rule if you need some concrete numbers. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/04/mlb-experiment-knock-out-home-run-derby-extra-innings.html Another poll with 80% of fans not supporting the extra innings gimmick: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/06/poll-a-major-change-to-extra-innings.html Fangraphs, same question, same results. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/fangraphs-readers-werent-so-keen-on-those-2020-rules-changes/ One in five fans don't like watching extra innings. You and BTS are in that group and that's fine, but the vast majority of fans do enjoy watching extra innings.
  21. MLB may as well try this if they are never going to go back to regular extra innings. MLB fans overwhelmingly dislike the currently used gimmicks and this isn't much different. Maybe it would increase ratings.
  22. Best 4 strikeout inning I have seen.
  23. It's almost as if the season has lasted more than 3 games.
