  1. I haven't been following this, but it's only shameful if there was compelling evidence that the claims were true and the jury ignored it. I don't see any of that being leaked, so we can't really say.
  2. I'm in the same boat, somewhere around 20 years.
  3. No thanks. That just gives us a third player who is not quite good enough to start at third base.
  4. That may rule out a suitor for Correa. Yankees or Astros is my guess.
  5. Rockies pushing hard for Albert Pujols. I don't understand their strategy.
  6. They can have him for that. You get him for 1 year if he is healthy and are on the hook for 44 million if he is hurt or sucks. Very risky.
  7. That's not surprising. GMs and agents are simply too busy/overwhelmed to discuss moves with the media like they usually do. Each wasted minute could cost your team a key player.
  8. Martin Perez goes to the Rangers for 1/4. I'll miss him in the division, that man is always good hittin'.
  9. JD Martinez didn't confirm that from what I have read, but if you have a link to a more definitive answer then I will update the list. We will find out for sure when each team plays here.
  10. Looks like I lost the pool for which free agent would sign first.
  11. I agree. Let's not mess with a good thing.
  12. Maybe he's announcing that the Mariners intend to miss the playoffs for a 21st consecutive season.
  13. I haven't seen one yet As a side note, I did see in my information gathering that Kris Bryant is vaccinated. That's notable, as he is a player of interest in the coming days.
  14. The fact that unvaccinated players will be unable to play in Canada this year is a fascinating story to follow, especially for Blue Jays fans. I think it's worthwhile to have a thread dedicated to discussing who those players are and what the implications are for our season. Are there any on the Blue Jays right now? We would certainly have to trade them and avoid any free agents who didn't get the jab. We know that at least 15% of the red sox 2021 roster was unvaccinated, most notably Chris Sale. Six other teams are in the same boat, including the Phillies, who at one time were around 50% unvaccinated. Please don't make this a discussion about vaccines in general. It is what it is and we should discuss the implications from a purely baseball standpoint. The list: Boston Chris Sale Tanner Houck Kutter Crawford New York (A) Andrew Benintendi Chicago (N) Jason Heyward Andrelton Simmons Philadelphia JT Realmuto Aaron Nola Alec Bohm Connor Brogdon Bailey Falter Kyle Gibson Oakland Austin Allen Kirby Snead AJ Puk St. Louis Austin Romine Nolan Arenado Paul Goldschmidt Detroit Andrew Chafin Cincinnati Brandon Drury Tyler Mahle Albert Almora Joel Kuhnel Seattle Drew Steckenrider Robbie Ray
  15. I have a 4 day weekend and I'm just sitting here waiting. s*** had better go down soon.
  16. Never change Spanky, you're a gem.
  17. I didn't know you had 2 brothers
  18. That could be a significant advantage for us, particularly in the playoffs. Imagine if you play the Yankees and Judge isn't vaccinated or something
  19. The 94 season stands out as the worst. The Astros and Red Sox winning tainted championships due to sign stealing was also pretty bad. Some would say the steroid era, but I don't think it was particularly bad on the whole.
  20. Regarding trades specifically, were GMs allowed to talk to each other during lockdown? That may not have even been against the rules.
  21. I think we get some action tonight if it is indeed ratified at 6.
  22. I'd be moderately surprised if teams haven't been negotiating with agents during the lockout. There could be a flurry of deals immediately after the deadline.
  23. Extra innings are back and we have a universal DH. That's fantastic news. The extra inning rule was one of the worst things to happen to baseball in my lifetime.
  24. I have little knowledge of this subject, but I would imagine that the remaining 5% supplies the majority of our domestic needs.
