I agree that’s the likely outcome and it’s just a shame, as it was a generational ball player and I think it’s too much. Deshawn Watson I feel deserved more punishment imo, assuming at least a few of the stories were true, or between his version and theirs. He was quite clearly a predator of sorts. He gets half-season (less even), which I feel was really light. NFL and media did too, but Union pushed back hard. Teams were also lining up trade offers. Not in mlb. You’re done for life, even maybe like Bauer when it’s not clear what you even did

Nope. To what Laila wrote, the law is the law. You can’t say, well it was 2 years difference from legal and it’s so ok. However, it absolutely plays a role in figuring out what the punishment is going to be. My defense of Wander has never been anything more than he shouldn’t get a life ban. It wouldn’t be just. 2-3 years work suspension, some sort of jail/suspended sentence/probation is more than enough for a 21yo that f***ed up like this.

Well, in Canada up until a little over a decade ago you could have a 45yo banging a 14yo and it would be ok lol. At least you’ve changed your pedo ways a little. Now it’s still apparently 19/14 which I think is high, so your country is still worse than me lol. So that’s fresh. My cut off would be high school. High school senior could bang freshman and not have it be stat rape. Of course, here in the US it technically is, but it happens for sure.

In your country, sure there’s going to be some punishment if 21/14 happens, as it should, but I’m assuming it gets pled down and the 21yo doesnt even go to jail. That’s the reality in 19/14 is legal. If you don’t want to admit that so you can feel better tonight, you do you. But basically you guys are calling him the scum of the earth and hope he never steps on a baseball field again, for something that’ll probably get a kid in your country probation.

It’s admirable that they can play with any given team and they’re a yearly contender in the market that they are. Certainly there’s a failure to launch feeling with the franchise though. I guess you can’t compare them to the Jays bc they’ve at least won a playoff game in the last decade.
