Using that same analogy, if he’s talented enough, there’s a possibility Henry Ruggs on the Raiders gets a shot at redemption. It’s entirely debatable which crime was worse in the end, between Wander and him, and I’ll go with Ruggs all day. That lady burned alive in a fire and isn’t ever seeing her family again. But I feel similar to Wander on it, just think Ruggs deserves more punishment.

It would be weak sauce to try to justify drunk driving where someone gets hurt and say they didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It’s just about saying, especially when it’s a 21yo, is their life over? It’s rough to me.

I will be honest with some TMI and recall a night where I was going to go back to a friends house with her and her 17yo friend (which was legal in my state). Who knows how it would’ve all gone down but my car door lock froze and I couldn’t get in. After trying for like 20m, I gave up and we all went back in and that was that. Night ended up differently.

I’m not saying it’s apples to apples by any means, but say you have a person that’s doing all the right things in life but unfortunately drives drunk one night and hurts someone. Again, don’t take that as a direct comparison, as of course it’s different in many ways. But in no way am I saying those actions are justified, or excused, but it just becomes a tough situation in how it all goes down. What the punishment should be. In Wanders case I feel a couple years in jail, a permanent Scarlet letter, etc seem to be enough to fit the crime.

Listen, we both agree on the issue up to a certain point. It’s not behavior that’s in any way acceptable or ok. It’s a criminal act that deserves jail. We differ on what punishment should look like. And admittedly we differ in that I see Jared from Subway and Wander in a different way. I’d be ok and fully support the death penalty for Jared. Seems you view Wander like that and that’s for you to feel how you feel

Yeah, I meant he initially probably met her another way. Send an attractive/developed 14yo that looks 18yo to a frat party and I’d wager she ends up having sex that night if she’s willing. The difference being it’s doubtful many, if any, continue the relationship.

I doubt he scouted her from a school playground. I vividly remember this 15yo girl that looked like a future supermodel that got into the local college watering hole, 25 cent draft thing. I was 20 I think. I thought she was my age when I first met her. Anyways, I never did anything with her but know guys who did.

16 is legal is literally 50% of the US. If you can’t say a 16yo can be sexually attractive is some cases, it’s bc you’re PC and/or you have low T. It’s called jailbait in states where it’s 18. At hand too is a 21yo half man and not some 42yo. Creepy factor 20x less

I’d think if I were Bauer’s team of handlers, I’d take the nuclear option after ST starts and sue. If he doesn’t sign this year, don’t think he’s ever signing.

Colin K they had to do something because basically the media and Rev Jesse Jackson were harassing teams for years any time an opening came up at even backup QB. Someone like Bauer/Wander is diff. Anyways, so I’m saying there’s likely no lawsuit for these guys. However, putting the tin foil hat on for a second, I wonder if there really is collusion with Bauer say. Like if the owner of the Texas teams and such have talked with some other owners and say they wouldn’t break ranks on signing him. Certainly possible. You’d have to know the fraternal mode of operation. But unless someone was a whistleblower, not much a player can do

I meant a specific player. I think NFL gave Colin K some money bc they were on the wrong side of the media but never admitted guilt. It’s about not signing Player X bc of the negative attention he may bring. So now you have Bauer, Bonds, etc. I mean most teams it’s hard to say they couldn’t use Bauer. But if you say he’s not worth the headache, can’t do much.
