  1. It was clearly thread worthy..minus the douchebaggery though. I wouldn't have clicked on the old thread not knowing he was signed
  2. Totally makes sense what JJ's agent was doing when toying around with Jays that JJ may be open to come back on 1 year deal..lol..AA prob offered 1/10 and the agent is like "f*** you sucker".. No way a team like SD would've given up 1st round pick
  3. Especially considering we don't advertise this one on the other board. I actually think it's cool when genuine new people join. I miss that from the old board. Gsnarles or someone should just constantly keep a thread up on the old one about a new board with better discussion. All they can do is delete it once in awhile
  4. Hasn't there been sudden influx of "first time posters"..lol..it's so bad that when somone says "first time poster" I automatically assume they're full of s*** even if it's legit
  5. Probably you would grade JF's MLB rookie year over a college pitchers..albeit one of best college seasons ever.. But stuff wise, SS was in class by himself. I never watched him pitch in college but I can remember watching his first MLB game (and after that as well) and his stuff was just cartoonish. You guys are too young to get the reference but it's like RBI Baseball for regular Nintendo where you throw a pitch and make it drop down to dirt right when it gets to the plate. In that way..no doubt SS>JF
  6. I agree with that concept.. I just took the trade to be a farse being that it was so unrealistic. It's like if someone said "Trade Melky for Trout".. Does that naturally lead to discussion or is it just stupid
  7. I cant believe this thread is at 220+ posts..lol.. that has to be a record for a thread started with a completely retarded and unrealistic trade proposal
  8. Agreed. Clearly
  9. Yeah, most people's opinions on it are blowing whichever the wind takes them. It's a no-brainer to extend him.. but in two years if he puts up a sub 100 wRC+ like he has 2 out of the last 3 years and his fielding goes to where it should.. (a plus glove but not like 2013).. and he's making $13m and a team cripple, most of the same people will say how dumb it was to extend him on one good year. I know Edwin's turned out to be gold.. but I dont like that comp to Rasmus as Edwin is on the record for working hard in the off-season to be better. CR's best comps are Adam Lind and Alex Rios and their team friendly extensions. That's who he is as a player. That's who you're betting on For the extra $7-8m and maybe a coule extra years, please give me Jacoby who even when he's cold at the plate brings wins to the table. No Dr.J/Mr.Hyde issues like CB
  10. Maybe. But it's w thing that prior to 2013 he amassed 1.6 WAR in his previous 2 seasons and he does have that black eye from St.L Also he was still prone to long droughts at the plate last year, even though the season was good. Just not a guy I would ideally look to aquire and extend while giving up my top prospects. On a buy low, yeah
  11. Also I'm not saying many teams wouldnt want him..just questioning if they're going to give up their blue chip prospects for a guy like Rasmus.
  12. Maybe I'm bias because I don't like him. He just comes off as a guy that will underachieve his talent
  13. It's very likely Rasmus has an Escobar-like devaluing around the league. I doubt Jays could get something worth moving him for.
  14. 50-1 odds is pretty steep.. I wouldve layed out $10 for a shot at $500. Of course I'm the kind on guy who always spends $10-20 on lottery tickets when jackpot is real big. I don't even want to know how much I've wasted over the years:(
  15. I think he's saying Law mockingly tweeted the news like it was some kind of newsflash that Cano would go to the highest bidder.
  16. Leverage I think. I think they're letting Cano know they wont be bidding against themselves... and if someone does give him 10/300.. yeah, you let him walk.
  17. When JP starts feeling less entitled (which will have to mean leaving Jays), he will probably work harder at improving at the plate
  18. He didn't say JP was one of the best framers. Just above average. There were stats showing this throughout the season. He made improvements. His bat just is so putrid that he's not really serviceable. I still think he might do ok in another org with better coaching. Nothing great but a ML C
  19. All of that may suggest there's stuff behind the scenes other than $. Some ill will between sides maybe that didnt go public. Maybe to do with the suspension or injury.. or that Ruiz didnt get extended last year..
  20. You mean other than the fact that he f***ed your mom?.. no.. no new news other than that
  21. I did part 2 already. Will work on part 1 today and tomorrow
  22. Jacoby will
  23. No. Confirmed fake account
  24. I dont think Garza is going to demand more than 5 years either. I'll prob put him 5/70 at most
  25. idk.. 4 WAR C with more upside (though Steamer doesnt think he will repeat offensively), !st year arb guy next year.. might take a lot to do
