  1. Quoting ERA and W-L..man of a mission
  2. Very doubtful Pearson, even if he’s good, is starting come playoff time (if they make it at least)
  3. Law of averages maybe. Acquire enough gas cans with upside and figure one or two will pan out
  4. Spanky I think when they’re mentioning about stuttering problems it doesn’t involve 2 bottles of vodka. I’m not sure you belong in the support group
  5. He also loved Trump and had bastard children running around that he didn’t support from his adulteress... so that’s another good comp for Schilling
  6. Mets can’t not sign Bauer with Cohen’s cash. Come playoffs Degrom, Bauer, Synder is exciting stuff. Stroman can try to compete for 4th man
  7. Don’t think I can delete now that it’s quoted.
  8. You sure? Snell pops to mind right away. He’s guaranteed, not options right?
  9. I don’t understand the difference between that and someone that has a horrible 2 weeks spread out during the 60 games. Or to end the season rather than at the start. As it stands you can say “oh he figured it out” but you could justify away any other split. Simply saying Didi has been the more consistent with 4 WAR play 3 of past 4 seasons with serious injury in only down year. He doesn’t possess same upside as Semien though. Mostly I’m just being a contrarian and I’ll be rooting for Semien to be 2019
  10. Meh. Season splits are what they are. They can break a million ways. Like in a regular season you have someone that’s super awesome 4 of 6 months and 2 they’re terrible, guys that are good first half, second half, etc. You can get into is it better to be good at beginning or end... but most important fact that sticks is out is season ended up being like almost every other one in his career except one. That said...I’m not s***ing oh him and it’s definitely worth the one year shot of trying to catch some lightning as long as we get SP too
  11. Actually nah. I’ll get him off waivers
  12. I have a 6th round pick I might send for it
  13. People were throwing hypotheticals out there lol I’m not losing sleep on it. I’d join the chorus of boos if they didn’t bring on legit SP by start of season though. I think they will for the record
  14. I go with Didi in a choice of the 3. I trust him to give 4 wins before Semien but if it’s who might give 6 wins it’s Semien. I’ll take the safer bet though. Plus it’d prob be a 2 year where he could be there where you can ease in the prospects you hope will take over 2022. Of course hopefully they find a good 1 year plug next year
  15. Yeah, not a perfect analogy but it’s like an NFL team that has a high powered offense but really s***** defense. If they go out and sign a 3rd or 4th WR with really huge upside it’s definitely an upgrade for the team but if you aren’t going to sign that really good LB that’s available, maybe not the best move. I think that’s all the nay sayers are bringing up.
  16. That would support what Schilling said. I just took a quick glance on wiki and saw otherwise
  17. I don’t think any of them get in. I was a bit confused on what Schilling said as he mentioned he wanted off the ballot and would take his chances later with the players voting him in. He was referencing the Vet committee obviously so I was thinking it was actually former players after reading that but in looking on wiki, it’s still just baseball writers
  18. Yeah personally, along with lots of others, I think the all-time greats Bonds and Clemens should be in but I can at least understand the other side. Schilling is a joke. Actually during his playing career I don’t recall any major character issue things and remember him getting the hero treatment even with his bloody sock. He’s being punished only by the contemporary woke crowd (cough*cough* Laila) because he’s clearly not going to march to the Ivory tower as a single-minded amoeba
  19. On precedent A-Rod definitely out. Papi rumors weren’t strong enough, so he’ll get in. Plus he got capped so that’ll gain him some sympathy
  20. Yeah I read something like 6/120 projection going into the season. That’s gotta be a tough pill to swallow when you’re getting 2/28 3/42 offers one short season later
  21. This is really valid. I mean it’s being a Denny Downer when the good news first breaks but you can’t give a final grade to the off-season until picture is complete. Smart money is on them fixing the SP I think but we’ll see
  22. Accepted begrudgingly I imagine. That’s the money he thought he was worth (at least) and no way he was getting that on multi year deal. He’ll have the earn the payday
  23. You’d have to trade Gri for a negative SP contract. We have a small army of scrubs there already. Better to sign some halfway decent ones from FA scrap heap. Hopefully Jays sign one of better ones though
  24. Shots fired against Clemens and Bonds lol
