  1. Haha. Actually after I posted I totally remembered you were also an active mod. I just usually think of the Big 3. You would’ve taken quite a bit of action if it was Vegas

I feel in recent years that’s been used somewhat frequently in these cases “he’s our QB...right now”. I haven’t kept track but I’m pretty sure it never ends well for said QB Watson will be a story to follow, has all the making of epic drama at this point with Watson scrubbing Texans from his social media after the trade request and attempted olive branch for the team. A Watson trade really doesn’t have precedent. I think it’ll take a young QB from someone like MIA or NYJ plus 3 1sts. I know the pro insiders are saying less but we’ll see...I guess if Watson presses they may have to settle for slightly less
  3. I got Hurl as the even money favorite, Laila right behind 8/5, and BTS 5-1
  4. They already rejected the first proposal for the same reason, so if they accept the latest it’s clearly still a concession.
  5. The NBA started way late and wiped off 10% off their reg season schedule. Covid situation not much better now than was then, vaccine or not
  6. Nothing about professional athletes irk me. Instagram Influencers and the like get under my skin a bit but I accept that society is to blame
  7. Yeah man. Agreed. Imagine having a one-in-a-million talent and trying to maximize your earnings. And just imagine having the nuts to tell your employer you’re only coming on board if they don’t have the option of sending you packing to other the other side of the country on a whims notice

Goff + 2 1st round picks and and 3rd for Stafford. Shows what they thought of Goff lol
  9. Agreed. I just got a chuckle on reading latest update: Bradley, who turns 31 in April, is said to be looking for a contract of more than three or four years. He would be justified in noting that Denard Span signed a three-year, $32 million contract at age 32 in 2016, and that Michael Bourn signed a four-year, $48 million pact at 30 years old in 2013. Andy Martino SNY talking those numbers- though Mets said to be far apart- as most teams should be
  10. I just take great pleasure in us not being the team that gives Bradley Jr the 3/42- 4/56 off he’s looking for. Yuck
  11. Well I guess I have troll blood bc that’s what popped in my head
  12. Wong is just inviting trolling there. I imagine there’s plenty of replies telling him maybe it’s bc he sucks
  13. Just me but once the bat gets in the 110ish territory, I’d rather just look to plug it with short term deals like Didi, Semein, etc (while waiting for prospects in the near future) rather than be locked in mega contract
  14. Makes it a little easier to swallow, yeah. Not claiming it’s bad for St.L, just not a guaranteed slam dunk
  15. Steamer and Zips project him slightly better than post Rockies’ Tulo; with the bat anyway Wouldn’t want to hand him $35m per
  16. This guy is funny. Give enough insider takes and eventually one is bound to be right
  17. Totally steals the thunder from the Eddie Rosario signing.. good for the Cardinals. Maybe they won’t be so boring
  18. I think obviously his camp had to wait on the whole DH thing to finalize his market. He’s a tough one to read though. He wants a multi-year deal at prob top pay. He’s been a bit up-and-down in his career as far as being elite goes. Best suited for a team with deep pockets I think. He’ll get paid something decent in the end
  19. Look no further than the Tampa series. I mean, you can compile the 3rd most projected WAR for the long season but if you get in a 3 game series come playoff time & Game 1 you find yourself in a high leverage spot w/everyone ready to go and the first person you go to is AJ Cole (who ends up only being able to find a minor league deal the following off-season), there’s probably some roster construction things to look at if you expect to be a playoff team
  20. Depends. Even if they get one more legit SP (Odorizzi/Paxton), they’re still stockpiling a bunch of poopy guys they’re counting on bounce backs from. If they’re going to get into the whole piggy-backing thing like last year in the playoffs, it’d be nice to have some legit shut down RP. Not just good one year but established RP like Yates and TR
  21. Haters gonna hate. Put in the work Captain K!
  22. Yeah if they don’t compete seems they’d have a flurry of moves they could make with the expiring contracts
  23. I read a recent rumor they definitely want a return for Bryant. I think a lot of people just assumed they were blowing it up but they said they were looking to compete while starting to be more financially responsible. NY and Bos had similar revelations in the last decade. Until it’s clearly a fire sale I’ll assume that’s what they’re doing; repositioning They’re still a competitor in an open division, playing in one of the biggest markets...with some competition for fans across town that has an exciting young team. I don’t think it’d be wise to nuke the team
  24. Have they talked about his IP at all? You’d imagine it’d be something 120IP at most? Even watching his outings if he’s a SP he’ll likely hit that. I guess some IL trips could limit the IP (which would make you even more cautious) but he’s likely RP come playoffs if he’s not shut down. So the # 2 SP is Ray?
  25. Same was said of Chatwood. Doubt they signed/acquired both thinking they were RP depth
