    Yeah the $10m is for Springer benefit only. The only time I wonder if it matters would be if a team was facing the luxury tax threshold. Don’t know if you could circumvent that somehow with a bonus. All the other leagues have super confusing cap rules, it’s hard to keep track

    Could’ve been requested. If it was the team thinking of their benefit, it would be to have more payroll flexibility in the later years

    I think if healthy Paxton is definitely good enough. Not as good as other guys mentioned but definitely a legit playoff SP. however I wouldn’t bet a $1 he’d be healthy come playoff time

    If he’s going to do 1 year deal it’ll prob be something like that (depending where health is at) but I think he can get one easy enough without offering a team cheap option

    Well that’d just be the franchise fee but it’s conceivable. Won’t be for the faint of heart though. Someone from up yonder would have to be passionate for it/along with the billions needed. I think US based owners/groups would look at internal possibilities first

    Can’t say I’ve heard of Terrance and Philip (I guess I mean Tim and Sid)... but Mike and Mike here in the states had some great on-air chemistry but they actually hated each other’s guts irl

    Their initial offer before Lindor was prob what the Jays offered- was reported as such too... worked out for Jays Lindor going there. Unless one wanted Lindor of course. I always wanted Springer

    NFL expansion fee alone would be prob $2b at least.

    Common logic really. I mean if a SP say pitches 2 games in 5 days (games) and his season WAR is basically without exception based on pitching 1x every 5 days- basically you’d double the WAR value. So even mathematically it changes

    Not all WAR are created equal. That projection would just be for regular season wins. Come playoff time 3 WAR Blake Snell becomes much more valuable than 3 WAR Cavan Biggio. Snell (or the like) changes the entire dynamic of a series. Jays will need SP help to be legit

    To clarify I meant there was nothing exciting about the tweet, meaning Jay interest came off as lukewarm. I think he’d be a great target. Basically been a 4 WAR player 3 of the last 4 seasons and the one he wasn’t was a serious injury year. Not sure how many position guys you’re getting for 2/28 or whatever for that. I think Steamers projection is conservative on his bat. The injury year jades that I think. That said, as mentioned I’m not sure it’s worth telling Bo he’s moving. I’m sure Bo would but doesn’t mean he’d want to. I won’t presume to know what the situation there is

    Don’t know the inner workings but if your star player wants to play there, I’d imagine you’d want to try to accommodate that unless you clearly thought you could make team better there (Lindor say). I mean you want to run your team to win but you also have to think about signing these guys (Vlad, Bo) into FA years if you can at some point

    Pretty lukewarm text on Didi. Doesn’t seem like much to get excited on. I’m sure he’d be willing to play 3b if need be but if he wants to play SS, sure teams will be there to give him same money...likely Philly

    Not saying it’s a bad thing. They really should add 2 SP though. I think it may end up being 1 + Chatwood though. We’ll see

    I can’t imagine Jays won’t add more SP depth. Hopefully a lot better than Chatwood. Not looking good for front line guy though
