  1. The one positive it’s better than giving Nimmo 8 years at least
  2. Built differently. I love Springer but let’s be real that he’ll miss some time. Lourdes, KK, and Whit manning the OF is pretty s***** for a team with a shaky rotation after 2 and coin flip BP
  3. He’s not signing to be the 4th OF
  4. The other shoe dropped. I’ll be bumping this thread in August. Choose your words carefully
  5. Every year the names for the BP get posted and pimped. At least you kept it a little reserved. It could be solid, or really bad. Of course you say that about other BPs, many are in the same boat. Not a lot of scary stuff in the list though. Hopefully Swanson proves legit
  6. The Jays are objectively tied to FA and trade targets maybe more than anyone. I do think they kick all the tires but likely they like to leak their name more than other teams for whatever reason. And there could be a few reasons
  7. Teams build a team for sustained success. When they get there, they optimize it for the playoffs. I’m sorry you love the Rays so much. Move to Tampa. It’s a great city
  8. Taking out of ass, but there would be more injury risk with pitcher, but I feel like they probably age better than hitters idk. Like they can lose velo and if they have good secondary stuff, they can ride with that. Like hitters they lose bat speed, no good.. also they slow up in the field
  9. When has any 10 year ended well. Maybe a couple times idk but we all know how they likely end
  10. I think 5 is a given. So likely some team will have to go the 6. So saying 7 really isn’t nuts. Could very well happen, even if not likely
  11. Perhaps i misremember Mo, my bad. Anyways, as someone has been pointing out, pretty much nobody is good after 35. Take hgh or suck. That’s the choices
  12. I mean you can say Ortiz, Mo Vaughn.. other examples of the other way. I can’t recall much about his degenerative spine issue. s*** can happen though to all body types. I’m not sure obesity was a factor there but idk
  13. I’m not sure man. A slugging 1b ages better than a slick fielding SS or CF… you want the value to be in the bat more than the field. Neither seem to be fragile. Don’t see the worry Well maybe Kirk. I forget what he’s had besides a hip.
  14. I mean of course I’d like the Jays to sign Rodon for 6/180 and someone else but since they’re not going to be like that, it’s good they stay away from dead money contracts
  15. As I’ve said, I’d assume they’re looking at it as dead money at that point. I think you can see a diff between these teams like SD and Tex, they are running it as a trophy asset, and a team like Jays that’s running it as a business first. I mean I’m not whining about it but it’s just what it is.
  16. You’d think but it’s doubtful. There was probably a market like that. These contracts are going like hotcakes
  17. KK would be such a bad Plan C. The same ppl that will applaud it wanted JBJ a couple years ago.
  18. Ah. I don’t remember the AZ stint.
  19. For some reason, likely cause it’s a Jays board, I thought you meant the pitcher until I Googled the other guy lol The pitcher never made it to GM, I remember him crying racism
  20. Disregarding any specific examples, it just means there doesn’t have to be one approach. There’s so much we don’t understand about the business of baseball, we can only comment on how WAR saavy something is. Like have you ever read Texas’s tv contract, like what if there is a lot of money at stake in terms of money outside the guarantees, like with ratings and such. Or teams negotiating the contract. Or an owner that wants to win now and he understands the contract they’re signing isnt objectively smart. The most important thing to know.. is franchise values haven’t absolutely exploded because of their bottoms lines. It’s a trophy asset and all about the image in the end
  21. Tatis to LF is kind of dull.

    NFL Thread

Nobody gives a f*** about most of these people in viral stories but you have to react to it, or get buried by the woke mob. It’s the world we live it. Buffalo Bills made it national news.
  23. I’d like to realistically pay $1.99/g for gas. It’s like $1.50 in the 2nd rate countries I was in. If I only it worked like that Won’t be fun signing any big names
