I try not to gamble but keep an eye on odds. I’m not claiming MIN is better than Buffalo of KC, but +1800 to win the Super Bowl is pretty good odds to play I think

No doubt there’s risk. But also possible value in there as well. I’m assuming any major injury is covered by insurance, so it’s not totally accurate to say that period would be a “loss”, though it would count against the cap. But anything major, you can technically take that period off the term. Obviously it doesn’t cover if he comes back lesser.. though Degrom has plenty of room to come back lesser and still be good. Not to mention the “playoff bonus”. I mean it’s a wild hypothetical, but honestly how much would teams pay DeGrom if he could only pitch in the playoffs? I’m guessing $20m for sure. Clemens at 40+ was getting it for a couple regular season months. Tex obvious has to make it there to reap the rewards, and have HD healthy

Give them Verlander and it gets interesting. Besides the 4 they’d have depth with Owen White and as a wild card, Leiter later in the season if he figures it out As mentioned, they have a lot of quality bats, just not the star kind. I don’t know anything about their BP
