  1. Yeah seems pretty clear Jays wanted that over something else. Really doubtful AZ sought out LG, a 29 yo declining OF taking ABs in a contract year for him, when AZ isn’t expected to compete It was the kicker the Jays apparently wanted instead of the lotto prospect
  2. I actually checked to see if you had him in one, or both. It’s both lol
  3. Jesus, man. He had a K rate of 21% in a full season at AA as a 20yo. For someone with possible 80 power, I think that’s ok
  4. Yikes. .553 OPS in 127 ABs against LHP. Will make for late inning decisions in key games
  5. I’m coming around the the practicality of the deal, but can you be any more of a f***ing homer lol. It’s literally no better than someone trolling the move. The guy could easily be a Top 10 player in baseball lol. Just needs to improve just a little
  6. I mean, he’s a consensus plus defender, no doubt about that. Projections are what they are though, you don’t get to quote them one place and disregard them another. He’s an average hitting corner OF that plays plus D and will help on the base paths. There’s stuff to like no doubt
  7. I mean. I think the hope was #1 prospect would get you something without warts. Maybe another prospect back like Jordan Walker. I’m sure they were trying for something different and circled back to this deal. Projections have him as a 3 WAR OF and controllable for multiple years, so there’s stuff to like and the hope is they do something with the payroll flexibility .. just underwhelming in the here and now
  8. Defensive value is just so hard to determine and so it’s disingenuous to say he was really worth 5 WAR. Like look at projections next year for his D. The s*** is just so wild in variance.
  9. I don’t think there’s many people thinking LG was any sort of big loss. He was more just a fan favorite kind that may not have been worth much, so it made sense just to hang on to him. Not like he’s unplayable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jays wanted to dump the money and that’s why he was in there
  10. Is there a way to retroactively grade his batting WAR as a corner OF?
  11. Varsho > LG Bassit > Strip Teo > Swanson Sign KK, lose top prospect Probably a little better 2023 than 2022 but hardly a big step forward. Don’t forget it was a clear cut WC team from the jump
  12. Doesn’t corner OF make Varsho less valuable?
  13. Definitely seems like a deal that could’ve been made already. Seems like go home with the fat chick but whatever, deal is done.
  14. He got absolutely buried by the allegations. Even though they have become questionable to say the least, the allegation is still out there. If he was guilty of all the allegations, maybe he doesn’t get allowed back
  15. The signing team loses a sponsor to the Twitter mob, and some of the extreme casuals. However, if they make a deep playoff run, it more than cancels it out. So it’ll be a hands-on owner that takes it on. Corporations like Rogers and things like that won’t touch it.
  16. Objectively, from what we know, it can be said that even the civil route doesn’t look good for her.
  17. I can get with the Bonds precedent, the idea nobody will sign him. Baseball does wax more conservative than other sports. The NBA they would all be lining up their bids lol I don’t think it’s dumb to say he won’t get signed, but I think he will in a couple months when it’s not so hot. Worst case, I think if nobody signed him this year, he’d get signed next year.
  18. So it’s pretty much official. The other shoe to drop was KK
  19. If they tried it, some sjw on Twitter would say they were cutting their cable, a couple retweets later and the whole deal would be off SF style.
  20. Why DBacks

For like a decade+ and after too many 1st rounders. Them and the Skins
  22. Where is King? I think we’re all eager to hear him weigh in
  23. Quick Google: The commissioner is also restricted by Article XI, Section A(1)( of the MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement. This section provides the commissioner with the right to overrule any disciplinary decision made by an arbitrator, and gives him the right to act as the final word on all punishment cases.
  24. No. Just like NFL
  25. It’s for the time he was put on admin leave going back to 2021. Hr got paid for it. So he’s playing that back essentially. It all wrapped up nicely. I’m sure his main goal was being able to play Opening Day. Mlb saves a little face. That’s why no appeal
