    Pro athletes (especially NFL/NBA) have to go through a lot of training in their rookie year with this stuff. Not because the league thinks they’re rapists but to keep them from putting themselves in a bad spot

    I’m just stating a fact. Cosby’s case was tossed on appeal for underhanded tactics. I think it was clear he was slipping sedatives to women before sleeping with them though. Clearly a rapist. Anyways, the rape goal posts have changed a lot the last couple years. Rape used to be about firmly saying no, and now it’s about if they’re comfortable or not. So in a lot of these encounters with celebs, maybe it moved faster than they wanted and even though they didn’t really say no, they weren’t entirely comfortable with it. Then to not get your texts the next day answered, that’s basically rape now

    If having 2 star Catchers was something that made a lot of sense, other teams would be seeking it out. It’s not practical. That doesn’t mean you just give one away but there’s no need to cry if it goes to 1

    As others have said, I’d love Eovaldi. If Berrios pitches well, you still have Eovaldi ready to take the ball in any playoff game if they’re struggling. If Berrios struggles, Berrios would be kind of the swing man. Either way the #4 SP would probably be legit

    There’s no magic formula. You need a bit of everything. The last 2 years and 4 losses, the Jays have lost games differently. The pen is probably the most glaring but the bats were completely limp in 2 of the 4. So going backwards in that category while improving it others really wasn’t ideal. Ideally you could’ve found a CF and Teo would be fine in RF. Over the course of a season he’ll lose value in the field, but not really in a 3 game series. His main issue seemed to be focus on D and like the NBA, I imagine players like that see a boost come playoffs Jays decided not to really go for 2023 though and take the payroll flexibility and longer term vision. Nothing wrong with it and I wouldn’t argue it’s not the “smart” way, especially if Swanson works out. But it’s definitely a different approach than the teams trying to win the whole thing next year I like Bassitt though. If he stays what he has been at least. Run prevention center just be better pitching too

    Clearly he was a rapist but there also seemed to be a number of girls that slept with him and deeply regretted it. Perhaps the California Governor’s wife, who the jury didn’t believe at all

    I mean people just want to understand others actions. The jury couldn’t convict Harvey Weinstein on most of his counts recently because there was like 35 emails for some of them and asking to meet after… the one he was guilty for was the one that wanted nothing to do with him afterward. We have to give people reasonable doubt. It’s the foundation of my country at least. Tears and accusations shouldn’t bury someone, when they can come from regret or in very rare circumstances, a money grab

    Well, we are in agreement here. I know what’s been said but I never just take what’s said at face value. No matter what Laila says, Toronto may be ruthless, but they still do the PR thing like everyone else. Of course it “hurt” them to move him. He may not have been outright dumped but I wouldn’t be surprised to know AZ was steered that way on what else they could get

    Thanks. I thought it was pretty well-written. Not clueless at all They just said Moreno was an overpay essentially, so they shouldnt have needed to add LG. But he also said he saw why it made sense. So I think some people here see it the same (Moreno overpay but makes sense, I mean)
