  1. Copy/paste a paywall article or don’t link it lol
  2. Yeah, I’m sure it’s frustrating for CC because it sounds like it’s from an injury in A+ ball many moons ago. So I’m sure he thinks its bs but the docs feel otherwise
  3. Ok. But you don’t find it odd that the suspension is exactly time served? The bow isn’t a little too tight there? It’s just a tough spot and they all just wanted to put it behind them. You can’t really say it should be a lesser suspension because she was less credible. I mean, if you acknowledge any holes/doubt in the story, why should’ve he even gotten one day suspension. The suspension length really doesn’t say anything about his guilt. It’s just how long the process took.
  4. Take into account Bauer hasn’t accepted a drop of responsibility. In fact, he’s basically been calling her a liar the whole time. This isn’t a guy that just accepted the whole thing. I’m sure he wished he didn’t miss a day of baseball but it’s not the reality at hand
  5. Idk. Does it take a year and a half to get it before the panel typically? I don’t know, I’m asking
  6. I mean, this is decisions that get made it court. There’s no smoking gun proving he’s innocent. I mean, it’s a personal thing. Maybe you would fight like a dog but maybe someone else would be like f*** it, pay the civil suit. I’m crossing over the courts but it’s the same thing. Anyways, he wasn’t getting any of the playing time back. That was over. So it’s just about the money.
  7. I wouldn’t say they went easy on him. More like they went way off the established path with Bauer.
  8. I mean, do you really think the decision on how many games he should be suspended just coincidently ended up being time served? It was a decision that made a lot of sense.
  9. Osuna was a small footnote at best in the national news. The allegations against Bauer were disturbing and also front page mainstream news. It was going to be under a microscope, where Osuna wasn’t
  10. Oh yeah. Sleazy car salesman. Not for everyone but you can appreciate the hustle
  11. Interesting what the pivot will be. Less money? Another prove me? As long as he doesn’t go back to Min and block the future AS they have there at SS, I’m good with it
  12. Actually nothing he could do here. He had a great off-season. He got CC the contract, then tried to leave $50m on the table for a team that may overlook it.. no go
  13. Yeah, something. I don’t mean Varsho, as I only looked at 2021 but in general, you’re not going to wait multiple mlb years to determine that… I mean, I can see if a guy like Varsho is still valuable, you let him keep poking at it other than when a tough lefty is on the mound, or it’s a critical game against LHP. That makes sense
  14. I’m wrong? It happens. I thought it was a regular season rule Go sit on a pitchfork
  15. This pokes a hole in Jim’s conspiracy theory
  16. Good for the season, but I think during the post-season you can bring in a pitcher for one batter. Anyways, hopefully he improves. I’ll be rooting for him even if I point out the flaws. But it won’t be good if we’re in a WC series and one game is against a LHP, and good one at that. Basically you’d have to sit him
  17. Varsho aside, so should a team should wait 4-5 years to decide on that? Lol. Like if someone has an OPS under .600 after 400 ABs they shouldn’t be like “wait a sec”
  18. You’re not dancing on a twig there, mate
  19. Having 2 Catchers is “cool” but not that practical. That was where the “trade two” philosophy came from. Come playoffs, one C can start every game. Having 2 limits what you can do with the DH in terms on matchups. So having a little more position flexibility is better Even during the season when Springer DHs 15 games and all the other times the Jays give a position player a day off on the field, one of the C doesn’t get in Seems wise for a non-spend heavy team to allocate the money somewhere else. Also, a Jansen extension will be there next year or they want it. If Jansen has a legit year and Kirk takes a step back, it may make more sense. I think Captain is legit though. We’ll see
  20. It can’t all be cheerleaders and rah rah. You know sometimes these things don’t work out. You can like certain parts of a deal, yet pick at others. It’s like the Mesiah is coming, or nothing I’m off to the gym, so you get you wish for tonight Spank-off. So take your dentures out and relax
  21. 26/27 season. We’ll see. I’m not s***ing on the deal, just think you guys are pumping the tires a little heavy like we got ourselves a perennial AS
  22. No guys/no glory. SP wins WS. I’m mostly talking in jest.. but in seriousness, Jays really didn’t go hard at 2023 WS, they improved the team a bit but it was more about long-term flexibility. So not what some of the other teams would do when they’re on the cusp of WS title, but the smart thing to do I guess. Not sexy. I do like Bassitt solidifying the rotation. Of course the defense will be better but the lineup will be less scary in the playoffs, so it washes for short series’
  23. You’re just a cheap bastard with someone else’s money. They could’ve just gained 5 or 6 wins by signing Rodon lol
  24. Stop glossing over the fact that Varsho is projected at 3 WAR. His mlb profile is kind of established as well. I’m not s***ing on the deal but call it for what it is, we’re not getting a 5 WAR OF in return
  25. Trading LG for a 40fv meh prospect would be really bad optics.
