  1. I’ll split the difference with you and say it’s important to have better hitters as you’ll be facing much tougher pitching than what you see over the regular season
  2. Yes so subpar hitters become worthless. Great hitter become good. Take the L. I know you have the woke mob behind you, but just take it All the sudden you can’t play guys like Varsho when a good LHP is on the mound
  3. If a guy is 95 wRC+ in the regular season, it would stand to reason he wouldn’t be as good post-season. Obviously there’s complete outliers with great hitter being terrible and terrible hitters being awesome. But generally speaking the reasoning is pretty sound
  4. I mean you literally explain why hitting is harder in your examples lol You’re facing guys like Verlander and Cole at a substantially higher rate. All the playoff teams usually have most of the best pitchers etc..
  5. I meant it becomes more important than say RF defense that will likely not come up in games vs the importance of the ABs But on a basic practical level, yes hitting would become harder as one would assume you’re facing better pitching generally speaking. No fringe roster players, # 5 SP, pitchers pitching on short counts with max effort. More matchup specifics, etc
  6. Like elections when I don’t have a preference for either side, I just don’t vote. Probably a slightly better regular season team. If someone said 2 wins better, I would not object but not worth my vote
  7. I was also thinking of it from a post-season perspective, which wasn’t the point of the poll I think.
  8. Teo drove in 4 runs and scored 3. Without him it’s a different game as well
  9. I never said worse. Re-read, mate. I said worse hitting and you’re quoting WAR And hitting can have an outsized influence in a WC series but the debate here is regular season team I think
  10. Next year projection is what matters
  11. Bassitt was nice, otherwise id say worse for sure. Striping would be a coon flip next year I think idk. Bassistt you know what you get as long as there’s no age decline. Which is a really solid guy pitching Game 3. Which is obviously pretty big
  12. Even the “better” crew are saying it’s incremental. I took exception to you saying it’s a “much better team”.. which implies something more than optimistically a couple extra wins
  13. The Jays restructured. They sacrificed hitting for defense. Teo was one of the best bats in the AL. Lourdes is a better hitter than either new OF. Yes, Varsho could take a step forward, but Lourdes is probably a better bet to find his power. But for the sacrifice, the defense got way better. So it’s a trade off. Is it overkill? Like could’ve you kept Teo and gotten a CF? They picked up one RP who is certainly intriguing but totally unproven. They also lost their clear #1 prospect. They did bolster the rotation with a nice signing. I’m in the camp of one more guy at the backend. Anyways, they did parlay the 2022 team into a squad with better long term prospects (I mean control) and that’s something that you could celebrate Don’t be a homer and act like the 2023 squad is “way better”. It not. It’s built different
  14. I can respect crusaders. First take an ax to binary assignments, gender norms, and the pronoun system. Then it’s time time to take what being a pussy means and turn it on its head lol. Keep at it, man
  15. Didn’t you just mockingly use the word recently and likely put it in Spanky’s vocabulary?
  16. Someone tattled on the tattletale and your thread got deleted?
  17. Ah I definitely just missed it then. Thought it was long time ago and may have forgotten. That deserves to be a HOF moment anyway
  18. Maybe he was just quiet
  19. How long has Jim been around? Thought he was relatively new, less than 5 years
  20. Lol. I missed that. My money is on Deadpool The others are too soft and cuddly
  21. Didn’t see this. Yes, it was
  22. One does not belong with the others
  23. Only if he hit for more power, which it didn’t look like it was going to happen.
  24. I know you wouldn’t worry about any over shift. You know, where accusations become convictions and due process is eliminated, like the one guy in this thread.
