    Yeah it’s like giving the World Series mvp to the guy that pitched 15 innings with a 9.00 ERA, but a great FIP. Over the guy that pitched 15 innings of shutout ball with a worse FIP. The MVP was the guy with the better old school numbers, lucky or not.

    He simply rose a valid point. FIP may be a better indicator of what will happen going forward, but ERA/Wins/Whip are all what happened on the field. Across the whole year, Manoah was the guy. Sure, there were many that said 2023 would be a regression to a lesser mean, good for them, but that doesn’t mean Manoah wasn’t the ace on the field in 2022

    I happened to look at his FG page the other day when perusing my fantasy team and saw the 97 mph velocity. Interesting how it can come that much later as career high. My son played for the same travel team as him (many years apart), so I’m sure the guy has been in pitching labs since he was 12. So funny how that works. Not sure what he did

    It’s beyond RISP. It’s an army of .750 OPS bats coming at you. But there’s enough of them to score enough runs to win games with the pitching and D. Nothing wrong with saying it’s not an exciting version. Playoffs are playoffs though. Not sure the team is built for a deep run, but other years when it seemed they could make a deep run, they got swept. Who knows

    In this age of twitter and e-communication, I feel like any player that gains notoriety can play that card if they want the media exposure. Death threats, being called a N word, etc I’m sure there’s at least one person in a famous persons social media saying something like that when something controversial goes down.
