  1. When I was in Toronto I was in line at 10:50 and ended up with Blue Jay gloves during the real flop that was Snow Day in July.
  2. Pretty sure he said something along the lines of Stroman being a BP guy long term.
  3. Cites Marcus' height as the reason why.
  4. "If it ain't broke don't fix it"
  5. Well considering I have no inside knowledge of the organization's plan with Osuna, I can only speculate. Obviously he's a better long term option to start than Sanchez, and I'm really curious where that was implied? I also have access to Fangraphs and I'm well aware of the type of season he is having.
  6. Hendriks would have my vote to close next year if they move Osuna to the rotation.
  7. The pen is fine. Using guys in the right situations would do wonders.
  8. Ya, you pretty much nailed it. He's hitting leadoff because there isn't a more suitable leadoff hitter in the lineup. I'm actually surprised Gibbons has kept him there, especially with the addition of Revere. The days of light hitting speedsters leading off are (hopefully) on the decline, although many mangers still choose to do i.e.: Alcides Escobar. Then you look at a team like Tampa who has used John Jaso at the leadoff spot quite a bit this year, from what I can tell due to his ability to get on base. Revere is an interesting case for this team. He is a very nice complimentary piece to this team with his contact skills and ability to steal bags. It's difficult to say where he's best suited to hit because as you've said, his niche of stealing bags is somewhat handicapped due to 1-4. Even so, I think his best fit in this lineup is 9th. There will obviously be a decrease in stolen bags (and attempts) but his ability to go first to third or score on a double is where his speed will be most apparent.

After an 11 game win streak and all the major trades, it was obvious this place was going to have an influx of new posters. With new posters come trolls. What was done to combat that? Sweet f*** all. This board becomes less enjoyable by the day, and it's a shame its happening during some of the best baseball the Jays have played in two decades. At the very least, give these guys who have offered to help moderate this place the ability to get rid of trolls and morons. That would be a start.
  11. Challenging a player and putting them in a position to fail are two separate things. In a game like baseball where bad habits develop quickly and are hard to break, why risk it. I'm not talking specifically about Greene, I'm talking about the ******** narrative on this board that "challenge them because they will figure it out eventually if they're ML quality" pisses me off. I also don't agree with learning to "reach deep down inside" as that sounds like something Buck and Pat would refer to.
  12. Putting players in a position to fail can also create bad habits that become hard to break. The idea that they will just adjust to more advanced competition and continue to develop is flawed in my opinion. Some kids obviously will, but why rush until they've mastered each level?
  13. Wilner just has no idea when to stop. f*** is he dumb.
  14. Playing with your butt hole clenched is also the enemy. There is literally no reason for the Jays to be worried about anyone. They're a top 5 team in baseball.
  15. You must've missed the part where the Jays were basically a .500 team before adding Tulo, Price, Revere, Lowe and Hawkins.
  16. Olerud- "BB is the greatest GM cuz Lawrie could still hit .280 with 20 bombs and 7 steals and Barreto could become an all-star and Kendall Graveman could be 2 WAR and Sean Nolin could be 2 WAR and Josh Donaldson could hit .230 and then we all wouldn't think it was such a great deal." Anyone else- Yes, but the probability of this happening and coming back to bite the Jays is very low. Olerud- "Ya but if Lawrie has a similar career path as Beltre then we might all regret the trade because we gave the A's Graveman, Nolin and Barreto!!1!"
  17. First two minutes in and I'm loving it.
  18. That doesn't sound homerish at all.
  19. That's the tap water in Baltimore bud.
