How can anyone look at this org and be like ya they’re actually doing a pretty decent job
They are surviving on burning through cash. Not a great long term model to just stay afloat. The only good thing they’ve done is not hand out an albatross. I guess you can consider the stadium renos and player development complex too but waiting to see returns on that
Ya saying they need to fill all those holes is in a perfect world scenario. There is zero chance of doing that on 50M and unlikely to do it all in one offseason
Probably more like
One legit power source, another upside add offensively
A lower end SP 3/4
Ernie Clement/Addison Barger
One good BP arm, one RP5 type
Reese McGuire or whoever
Yankees will re sign Soto
Orioles are a 90 win team for the next 5 years
Red Sox have like 5 top 100 prospects who are all likely to debut next year
Rays lost their franchise player, added the best prospect in baseball and have Mclanahan, Springs and Rasmussen to start the season
Blue Jays have Alan Roden
I agree. At this point I guess I’m rooting for the underdog Mets and their 300M payroll
Could never cheer for the Yankees
Dodgers can cling to their covid trophy
Cleveland I don’t think has a horses
Mets are cool with Lindor and company
Hey Olerud I’m not taking shots at who said what here because a) I wouldn’t have remembered who might have mentioned DFA being a possibility and because it was just part of the discussion
I’m just making the point that there has been a wide net cast in terms of Vlad’s worth in dollars, so connorp saying there’s 10 teams who would give him 300M isn’t some universally agreed upon opinion
I always thought Tyler H was a really good 3rd catcher
Which makes him a below average but not the worst second catcher kind of
I would rather use that money elsewhere too I think
