I can promise you even if they don't trade for one, that Justin Smoak will not be the opening day first baseman. People are mistaking adequacy for depth- something the Jays don't have a lot of right now.

The GDT is not an accurate representation of the majority of the posters on this board. You're welcome to stay and talk baseball throughout the offseason but I have a hunch you're just a bandwagon fair weather casual Indians fan.

It's okay but the biggest knock is the non existence of a premium player. That could be Vlad in a couple of years, but the rest all seem like 55 FV types at best. I think Alford has the best chance today of becoming an above average regular FWIW.

He's not getting calls 6 inches off the dish, that's your own false narrative. There have been a lot of sliders on the outer third that the hitters have been taking, almost a complete unwillingness to go the other way. Navarro's swing last night was a textbook approach when facing Miller.

I'm not convinced they are. You've got to eliminate one of the pitches until you've got two strikes. He's had a ton of success with the slider. This would be my approach at the dish.
