  1. Not worth a later round pick for me Jimbo?
  2. I shouldn't have said they're not interested in him playing CF. Obviously they're interested if he can or not, I just think if he ends up in Toronto he's playing a lot more on the infield than in CF. Which still leaves the team with a hole in the middle of the outfield.
  3. How is your new mouse working Spanky?
  4. My suggestion is to stop coming here until after Christmas if you're hoping for a big signing. This offseason has been predictably slow, especially after the Mets signed McCann instead of Realmuto.
  5. Again, no. Kim will not face intense pressure coming to the league. Why do you think there will be a mob of media and paparazzi surrounding this guy every day? You're acting like it's Barry Bonds coming over from Korea.
  6. They may want him to have the ability to cover CF in a pinch, but I find it highly unlikely that he would sign in Toronto to become the everyday center fielder.
  7. The best athletes adapt well to different scenarios. The best athletes usually play up the middle. Betting on the best athletes being able to play multiple positions is a fairly safe bet. I don't believe the Jays are interested in Kim playing CF. Around the diamond means infield (first, second, third and home create a diamond). Kim isn't going to sign in Toronto to play CF when other teams will be lining up to let him play SS.
  8. Lol no Professional athlete. He’ll be able to throw the baseball just fine Not every minute detail is seen as a massive obstacle for foreign players
  9. I bet he faced a lot of bad offenses in 2018 too.
  10. Who remembers Juan Francisco's bomb against the Reds like 4 years ago when they were down 8 and came back and won with like three innings to play? I DO!
  11. That's why those guys are on the radio and not making personnel decisions
  12. Yup, even better. I would prefer both of them.
  13. Pass on Snell. Use the bullets for a hitter if you’re going to explore the trade market.
  14. LOL at Realmuto asking for 200M I wouldn't pay him half of that. I really hope the Jays stay away from him.
  15. I think I could stomach 5/90. 5/125 is a definite no fly zone for me.
  16. Good point and you're right. I'm just not of the opinion that the Jays have to drastically increase payroll this year or they won't/can't be competitive. There are lots of good free agents next year too. Delicate balance indeed.
  17. What crippled them was not having any flexibility payroll wise to add when they needed to. It's all fine and dandy to sustain (insert Team X's payroll here) ~170M payroll when things are going good. But as soon as you need to add to your roster and don't have the ability to because you've brought in players XYZ who are all making 15M+ per year and your arb salaries are continuing to rise you're in trouble. Maxing out payroll in 2020 will provide a massive hurdle in 2024 or whenever our arb guys start making real money. I know most fans don't care about that (not you in particular Grant) but there is a lot of chatter on here that they should easily be able to add 70M in salary this year. That's a terrible and irresponsible way to operate in my opinion.
  18. Yup. They sold their window for a championship. Can't really fault them for that but it definitely wasn't the model of sustainability. Eloy for Quintana Torres for two months of Chapman Soler for a year of Davis Broke the bank for Heyward It's sexy to see your team making splashes and bringing in big names, but it can catch up to you real quick. The Jays don't need to boost payroll by 70M just because they can.
  19. That's the first time I've really cared to look, but Vlad has absolutely changed his body. Still probably sucks at third but at least he doesn't look like Pablo anymore.
  20. Lol how does that guy continue to get jobs? Anyone with veterans to sell will be calling PHI pronto
  21. Justin Turner on a two year deal would make me very happy. I would rather go that route and add a couple bullpen arms and a starter than sign Realmuto to a five year contract. The Jays have the ability to spend, but that doesn’t mean they have to this off-season. If they miss out on Springer/Bauer/DJLM then address the roster by making more moderate splashes and bolster the floor of this team. Lock up one of Biggio/Bo/Vlad. I think that’s just as important to the long term viability of the team. If you max out payroll now by paying Lindor and Realmuto 50M/year for the next five years things could end up looking like the Cubs real quick.
  22. The Rockies could literally hire half of BJMB and be better off than they are now
  23. Seager and Kepler Solak and Antone
  24. I guess the Reds don't really need outfielders as they have like six on their roster but point being is that Gurriel's contract makes him a valuable chip that should be cashed in also on someone with control. If you can move a corner OF to shore up other areas of need then pull the trigger. Every year there are a bunch of guys available on short contracts to plug into LF. This year there are guys like Schwarber, Rosario, Pederson, Grossman or even Brantley who could all be had relatively cheap or short term.
