    Probably emphasizes his point even more. Ray is on record saying he was impressed with the organization. If all you have to do is pay most of Bryant’s salary and trade a prospect like Hiraldo, then I’m on board. I doubt they sign one of the big four if they trade for Bryant though.

    I mean if Cleveland wanted to add power in the OF they could just sign Joc Pederson or Ozuna. What would Grichuk get on the open market? 2/10? Is he any better than Grossman?

    You can't have Paxton and Kluber in the rotation if you're only signing one of them. The entire argument doesn't make sense because the Cleveland Indians are not going to take on Grichuk's contract just because Toronto doesn't want it, even at a reduced rate. If they wanted to spend the money they could just go acquire a good player as a FA.

    I think SWR has a ton of upside and could’ve jumped his way up prospect lists this year had there been a season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in 2021 if there is a somewhat normal season.

    I highly doubt they’re willing to almost double the projected payroll in one offseason. Seems like a terrible idea. I think a lot of people need to temper their expectations. Maaaaybe one of the big 4, but if not I expect a few 2-3 year deals at like 10-15M/year.

    I was listening to the Starting 9 pod over Christmas and they made a good point that these free agents aren’t in a hurry to sign because they train themselves - the players have become extremely individualized in the sense that they can do whatever they need to improve or get ready for next season on their own. Tell me when Spring Training starts and I’ll be there ready to go. Sure if you have 5 kids and a wife who all want to know what school they’re going to the desire to sign might be stronger, but not enough to throw your hands up and take whatever deal is on the table.

    Exactly. Nobody has signed. Did people really expect this years offseason to move at a pace faster than the last 5 years? Half the league doesn’t even know how to construct their roster ffs, of course free agency is dragging out.

    Exactly. Unless you throw left handed if you ended up in the OF at any point in your baseball career you likely failed as an infielder.

    There's a very real chance that the reason why Toronto's system isn't loaded with OF prospects is because the team places an emphasis on infielders with the understanding that they can always move to the OF if the bat plays.

    Corner outfielders are the most replaceable position on the field. You could sign Robbie Grossman for like 6M this year if you wanted and could expect a 1-2 win player. There are guys like that available every single year. Who cares!
