  1. I agree that keeping all three would wind up being a waste. I just don’t think Tyler O’Neil is the guy I would target is all. I would also explore Moreno + another prospect for a starter. Moreno + Tiedemann would land you a front line starter with control.
  2. Hard to say really IMO. If I could trade Jano for an SP with 2 years left and like 2-3 projected WAR I’d rather do that and keep Kirk.
  3. On a team full of holes and limited spending abilities with WS aspirations it makes no sense to use your most valuable trade chip on a player that is redundant on the roster. O’Neil has had one good season and that’s the only year he has over 400 AB’s. Jansen doubled his WAR in 100 fewer AB’s this year The team has enough RHH outfielders and I hate the low BA high K profile. O’Neil is an extremely high variance player. He could put up 6 WAR next year or 1 WAR. The Jays aren’t in the position where the need to hit home runs with player acquisitions, they just need production they can count on.
  4. Not a fan of O’Neil. He has a similar profile to Chapman and in my opinion one of those guys is enough. I don’t think Teo or Gurriel bring back much on terms of SP which makes this feel like a lateral move. A good illustration of why you trade whatever catcher brings back the best return. If this was the best package for Jansen but Kirk lands Triston McKenzie I’d lean moving Kirk
  5. I like your optimism. It’s unlikely he’s as bad as he was this year, but for 19M over the next six years probably has most people a little uneasy.
  6. It’s too bad Berrios is looking like a land mine right now. Having three guys heading into this offseason would be a lot more comfortable than 2.5.
  7. Good point. They’re definitely going to wanna keep Verlander and Contreras probably worth 18M or so. That might make Jano or a lower cost C option higher priority.
  8. Ya I don’t think the Astros catcher prospects are going to prevent them from trying to add a bonafide guy. I wonder how aggressive they’ll be on Willson Contreras this offseason?
  9. Is 14th in WAR since 2018 good? Oh no bad ERA stay away!
  10. There’s your high leverage lefty and Mayza is no longer necessary Two birds stoned at once
  11. Tim feels completely replaceable as well 9% swst% woof
  12. You either make room to accommodate an increase in talent or stick with the status quo. The baseline of the pen is fine but adding below Romano and above Bass would offer a big boost. If that means losing Merryweather or Richards then so be it.
  13. This is the part where I cry and ask you what’s your problem for following me around the forum and objecting to every post as you’ve done before
  14. Lots of serviceable to above average relievers and then one really good one. Most of these guys project as like 4 FIP relievers and then Romano Even just bringing in one guy who you have confidence being 1B to Romano would be a welcome sight. Push everyone else down one spot. The depth wasn’t the problem.
  15. Who hurt you brownie bites? You’ve been an angry little elf lately
  16. As have I. I’ve never had any problems. Just like I have the ability to distinguish Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Filipino people from each other.
  17. Two persons who look very different would be Mexicans and Cubans
  18. I hope everyone got a little token of appreciation at the end of the year for their hard work. Sort of like a participation trophy if you will.
  19. Spoken by a racist with no appreciation for other cultures. If they’re brown, they’re brown - right Jim?
  20. I’d probably roll the dice on Marte
  21. You’re right. Nobody made those points. But it helps him reinforce his argument so shhhhh
  22. Yes Guys wouldn’t be giggling like school girls at the end of the dugout if Gibby was in charge We’ll see what happens with John for a full season
  23. Oh okay thanks for your input Everyone is special and should be treated as such Good job this year team!!!!
  24. Nice. You won both sides of the trade
