Probably because while he was on a heater he moved up in the lineup and vice versa -
I agree 1000% but they still won’t have the balls to do it. Jays won’t even be connected to Bauer while Houston, Boston, Cincinnati etc will be. Atkins will send a memo out to the media saying you get no more leaks if you even mention us in the same sentence as him

People are typically resistant to authority by nature. Everyone knows the risks, everyone is free to use them if they wish. Is it really that big of a deal if someone decides not to wear one because they hate how it looks or feels? I know you’re being sarcastic but it will never be mandatory until the players decide it to be. Best course of action right now is to educate and continue to improve the product

Not every single part of the game needs to be curtailed for the attention deficient viewer in today’s world How many players would theoretically draw more than two throws? Only a few per game probably. Obviously those are the players who are most likely to succeed stealing second which amplifies the importance of holding them You have to imagine the success rate of stolen bases goes up massively after two disengagements. If two moves are burned the leads increase and so do the jumps I also don’t think fans care about pickoffs at all. The boos come from home crowds when the away pitcher throws over. Never heard a home crowd disgruntled with their own pitcher holding runners

This is exactly what I was talking about when I said I don’t care who is the best 40 man roster manipulator, I care about who can bring the best 26 man roster to the playoffs I don’t want to watch the Rays just cycle through 25 guys cut from the same cloth and win 99 games. Or the fact that the Dodgers have 17 major league caliber starters available to them to churn and burn.

Right it takes like 3s to complete the entire sequence of pick, tag, throw back to pitcher. Small price to pay to hold runners better.

I think they do the 2/21 deal. No way he takes the player option they’re high He did everything you would’ve hoped for when he signed. He got drilled in the head in Buffalo otherwise he would’ve been back sooner. He could easily be the teams best RP next year But that’s like 25% of the offseason budget. It will be interesting
