  1. The track record proves that they would have a great draft this year? lol. The track record says that they would probably whiff on several high schoolers with high picks, fail to sign a very high pick, hit on one or two HS selections, and maybe hit on a college guy.
  2. "tear-down" would likely just mean trading EE for young, controllable arms. The Blue Jays don't have a terrible burden of long term contracts so really, Law's point about a tear down coming is rather silly and stupid.
  3. Tearing down the roster would be egregious. An opinion that Toronto needs to make big changes to compete long-term is fine. That opinion could be reasonably held. But the roster as currently constructed should have more than enough talent to compete in 2016. They really need to keep the core together and go for it again in 2016, at least. I'm not even sure what a "tear down" would look like. I guess you could trade Tulowitzki, Bautista, and/or Encarnacion for young talent... Tulo doesn't have immense value though.
  4. I demand that you instantly burn all Rays gear
  5. Also, from all reports it seems like the Angels actually came to AA and all he really had to do was slide his booger filled Dell mouse over and click the 'accept' button in his IE browser.
  6. Why did you have to add these last five words? That's why people don't like you.
  7. All that Rogers and Shapiro can reasonably be expected to do is offer AA a fair contract. It sounds like they did that. Maybe the Marlins are moving to Montreal and we just don't know about it yet? It seems insane for a guy with AA's relatively small amount of experience to walk away over not getting full and complete control over everything baseball related.
  8. Alcides Escobar was the worst qualified hitter in baseball after the all star break. Soooo let's just give him to most PA on the team and win every game regardless. #Yosted
  9. Effect Buehrle has had on the youngsters = priceless
  10. All I can think about is a half man half horse centaur with a headset on
  11. Tom Verducci has been an incredible colour guy for Fox. He doesn't speak up a whole lot, but when he does it's almost always insightful - or even better, researched. The one good thing about the broadcast, which is terrible in general. He's like the opposite of Harold Reynolds, who just talks off the cuff, talks all of the time to fill any silent air, and seems to just be wilfully ignorant about a lot of things. I remember Joe Buck being sort of boring but professional nonetheless. However, he's seemed largely disinterested and boring all playoffs. A lot of the time this is how he'll play-by-play call an at bat: "strike one... here's the 0-1... ball one... here's the 1-1.... good rip on 1-1... (insert Ned Yost reference)... (no comment on ball 2)... 2-2 pitch... Moustakas! - Hosmer! ----- inning over." so f***ing boring, Buck
  12. Spanky, why don't you make fantasy baseball trades with me anymore?
  13. He has that thing, but that doesn't really matter on its own. More importantly, the arm is a bit late and there seems to be a lot of effort in his delivery and the body just might not be on time the way that it needs to be for a SP to hold up. I can't say for sure because I have no idea what I'm talking about and you'd need high speed video anyway. But honestly if he was a good bet to be a SP than Toronto wouldn't have called him up this year. There had to be a determination there that his role was RP and he had all of the skills to be one right now so why wait and f*** around with building up his stamina and all that s*** and risk him getting hurt before he even makes it to the big leagues? And then when AA says s*** publicly like "we still view Sanchez and Osuna as starters long term", well there might be some truth there but for me, reading between the lines, that's mostly about maintaining trade value for them. If they end up in some proposal and the opposing GM values them as SP then they'll be worth a hell of a lot more. And if AA is on the record about how these guys are relievers then the other dude can argue for them to not carry such significant value.
  14. TBH, I think Osuna's mechanics might potentially be so problematic that him being a starter just isn't really an option.
  15. Jason Pare from Cleveland. Rumour has it that Pare killed an attempted mugger in downtown Cleveland one night, so he had to be traded to Canada.
  16. Wow, could you be any more stupider? You realize that major league scouts just single-handedly won the ALCS for Kansas City, right? jesus duck
  17. Well the Tulo deal was pretty good in context. Can we have Norris and Boyd back, though?
  18. Also, 5th OF. Only real issue is that he doesn't have 1B experience.
  19. It's very likely that he would need a platoon partner given what his regressed platoon splits would be in relation to his talent level. Even if you don't expect him to be terrible vs. RHP, you would expect a LHB of similar talent level to be much better. We could also remove the "platoon" label and just say that pencilling in Colabello at 1B would necessitate some legitimate insurance. A platoon is just a convenient and sensible way to get that insurance. Really they just need to roll out Smoakabello 2.0. Doesn't have to be Smoak though. Could be any not awesome or expensive LHB 1B type who would reasonably be acquirable. Morneaubello Jasobello Mossabello (would be awesome) Davisabello (Ike, obviously) LoMobello Smithabello etc.
  20. I just can't see it happening. They will probably just look for a Smoak upgrade for 2016 - someone to platoon with Colabello. And if AA stays around he'll probably be focused on extending EE and JB, so 1B will be kept open in the long term for Bautista. It will be a tunnel vision offseason focused on acquiring pitching, I think. No need for more offense and the pitching market is very deep.
  21. Are you trying to get me banned? I'm on your side man. This is exactly what the fascist wants - he's trying to divide us with unequal treatment.
  22. You'll see with your mod goggles that I made an informative poll and had adjusted the age to 50, which would have been a better number to delineate "old" posters. This poll would have gathered lots of interesting data in a sensitive manner. BUT the fascist deleted my poll, because he's a f***ing imbecile.
