  1. Yeah that works too
  2. open D man slot is possibly the optimal strategy though
  3. Ok Spanky: you have never won anything in fantasy baseball and are most certainly not elite
  4. I guess the DDL "elites" would be: Me Dinger TRM FTD North --> all have 3 playoff appearances = yes silvergun --> 2 playoff berths + 2015 champion = yes jaysblue --> 2 playoff berths + enviable offensive core = maybe? BTS --> 2 playoff berths + 10th place this year = maybe? Havok Torontofan Kingkat ---> 1 playoff berth = no Not sure exactly where to draw the "elite" line. I guess due to the exclusive nature of the word, you'd have to leave BTS and jaysblue out of the list.
  5. Selling some older players: Hossa Wideman Green Iginla Doan
  6. What would have been sort of cool is a redraft league where the participants are the previous year's DDL / BBDL playoff teams. A 16 team league of last year's playoff teams. Then it would really have been an "elite league" since the prerequisite for an invitation is past success. You have to win to get in, every year. This just looks like a new 20 team dynasty league that won't be any different than if you had just said, "hey who wants to do a new 20 team league like the DDL/BBDL?"
  7. simmer down!
  8. Hard not to get Deck McGuire flashbacks though.
  9. Jon Harris has a long track record. It stretches from when he was probably 15 until now. He wasn't born last year, and Toronto drafted him out of high school so you know they've liked him for at least three years now. 36 innings at the tail end of a long season aren't changing their opinion much on him. There are so many reasons that someone could be bad for 36 innings... It's unlikely that he'll ever be a good MLB pitcher but that has nothing to do with his MWL stats
  10. Yeah Hernandez is an excellent MiLB signing. So is Penny - in 2014 he was still sitting 92 and touching 95. Hopefully at least one of them decides not to opt out at the end of ST.
  11. They need depth either way. I don't think there's any connection, although they've already made public representations that make it fairly clear that they aren't actively looking to make any big splashes because they don't think it's necessary.
  12. 2080 baseball looks better than BA anyway and it's free!
  13. Ugh. Sorry.
  14. Your friend/sister used to buy you a subscription every year. Are you alienating those that used to be close to you?
  15. Yeah the PR could use some work. Maybe. This is all just sour grapes because of the whole AA situation. I think it will blow over at some point..
  16. Kind of is tho
  17. I love everything about him Although a lot of the fans are idiots and he just doesn't seem to care about pandering to them. That's the refreshing part.
  18. Sea Bass
  19. Ass burgers is a disease
  20. Man I miss Beeston already. There was a guy with VISION. The vision to guarantee real grass at some unspecified time in the future after he'd be retired.
  21. Padres aren't necessarily worse
  22. I actually think they are probably not reducing injury risk. I mean, Sanchez' stiff lower half is not helping him at all in that regard and his timing is bad. Nothing about this seems natural... it's almost like he jumps up in the air and lands on his front leg. I wonder if he could throw even harder with more efficient mechanics.
  23. well now you've jumped the shark seriously though, Sanchez' tall and fall mechanics are just disgusting and so not athletic and I hate the Blue Jays for developing him like that I don't think you fix command/control problems by making a guy more rigid. That seems counter intuitive to me. It's possible that it was all Sanchez on his own though
