  1. Saunders would auto-accept a QO so the obvious answer to that question is to not offer him one. If eventually he would sign back for less AAV then I think that might be a cromulent situation.
  2. The Saunders decision also might be secondary and dependant on the Bautista situation, like it or not.
  3. Michael Saunders' defense is perfectly cromulent!
  4. my rotation is perfectly cromulent

  7. TCA making sense. Did I miss an intervention this weekend?
  8. I dunno. Minus two points from Slytherin!
  9. Hurley can pick his compensatory prospects this weekend. Just give it a few more days in case some other league members who have been AFK want to dissent or otherwise comment on the situation.
  10. I agree with Dinger. You could trade them if you want but only you are allowed to hold them while ignoring normal 12 prospect limit rules.
  11. I'm thinking we give him two prospects. One of them has to be currently owned by an MLB team, but the other can be any baseball player in the world (Otani, Gurriel, Thames, Mo'Ne Davis, GD). He can pick two owned prospects if he wants. The crowd would probably pick Otani and Maitan, but I can see arguments for choosing different names. What if Otani doesn't get posted for three years? There's risk there, so it makes sense to let Hurley choose. The two prospect won't immediately take up any prospect space. The signed prospect will start taking up a spot on his 12 man MiLB roster as of our draft in June 2017. If he picks an unsigned player, they won't take up a prospect spot until one week after they officially sign with an MLB team. Eh?
  12. So Boxy's Oscar Taveras compensation ended up being Andrew Benintendi and Anderson Espinoza. Pretty ideal!
  13. We'll also need to write some guidelines for tragedy compensation into the official rules. Generally speaking: - The player must be of significant value. We probably won't compensate a 30th overall prospect or someone's SP3. - The player should not be old, since the careers of old guys do end abruptly sometimes. - The event should have to be "tragic" in the sense that the dead / injured player is morally innocent; if Michael Kopech becomes an Ace and then gets KO'd and turned into a vegetable in a bar fight, I don't think compensation would be appropriate.
  14. We need to discuss reasonable compensation for Fernandez. Obviously there is no way to compensate even close to his actual value. We have a bit of a precedent with Taveras. What is fair and simple? My idea was to let hurley pick any one available prospect he wants, right now.
  15. Congratulations to my good friend, silvergums. I never had a chance.
