  1. Prospect that might be as exciting to watch as vlad = a very short list Kopech (100! and he punches people!) Espinoza/Groome/Yadier Alvarez - if projectable future Aces are what you're into Francisco Mejia - do you like hit streaks? Rowdy Tellez - do you like watching Kieth Law shrink into irrelevance? Moncada Matt Chapman - i mean, double plus arm, plus field and plus raw power is a viewer's delight tool package. (but this is "exciting to watch" and not really "exciting to follow." Lewis Brinson is cool too. Pick any of the top 6 shortstop prospects - do you like shortstop prospects? Robles/Moniak... Leody Taveras maybe
  2. That's kind of why I prefer starting extra innings pitch counts with 1 or 2 balls, if they really need to change the rules. It would still kind of be the same game, but run expectancies would be much higher and marathon games would be much less likely.
  3. There's also no situation where we automatically play 3on3 hockey. Runners get on second base with no outs all the time in baseball. Sometimes they don't even deserve it (four pitch walk + wild pitch!)
  4. Contrarily, 3 on 3 overtime is also a gimmick but hockey fans (myself included) love it.
  5. If you mean on the spreadsheet - yeah I'd say go ahead. In the rare chance that someone alters their decisions, they'll just have to post an updated list. If you mean on Yahoo - this year each owner is picking their keepers from last year. Yahoo on Sunday night will drop everyone else. Then each team will be responsible for picking up the rest of their 20 man 2017 roster from the free agency list (commissioner can do this too if necessary.)
  6. The playoffs are already a different sport with all the off days. Yay 2.5 man rotations
  7. No. The round robin is being carried on HGTV this year and the playdowns are on MTV2.
  8. If they want to speed up extra innings during the regular season my preferred tweak is to start Plate Appearances with 1 or 2 balls.
  9. Martin wanted to play but couldn't because of a minor knee operation earlier in the offseason and associated "insurance reasons." Sigh.
  10. Freddie Freeman posted this today
  11. Post stuff about the WBC here! Let's talk about some of the key little-known names. Nick Pivetta, Eric Wood and Daniel Pinero - who's got the info? Also Rowan Wick seems interesting. Extreme K rate in the minors this year after converting to pitching.
  12. I would support some variation of this rule as long as playoff extra innings remain normal.
  13. The waiver draft? It starts on like Wednesday.
  14. It's pretty bad. Lawrie, Martin, Saunders, and Votto are huge subtractions. Can't blame any pitcher for not representing (Paxton, Taillon get free passes from me.) Also can't really blame Martin and Saunders. Even guys like Rob Zastryzny hurt. A young lefty with a half-decent track record starting in the minors. Sean Jamieson - OBP minor league SS - where is he? Ryan Kellogg and Soroka and Quantrill also get passes from me because arms and actual prospects. Can Vlad for us play next WBC? 1B Freeman DH Morneau C Kottaras / Deglan 2B Pete Orr? Jonathan Malo? 3B Eric Wood? Jamie Romak? SS Daniel Pinero CF Pompey OF O'Neill OF Tosoni? Crouse? Nick Pivetta - Ace It'll be fun to get looks at some of the young guys, regardless. And even some of the old guys. A lot will be riding on guys like Pinero, Wood, O'Neill, Pompey, Pivetta. They can all play baseball so it's not a lost cause.
  15. Maybe if one of them was major league ready you could land a guy a bit worse than Cano. Maybs.
  16. I would prefer to comp him to Robinson Cano + two years of age. Hall of Fame, superstar level talent.
  17. Maybe Hafner? It's irrelevant though. Cleveland was a completely different franchise than Toronto in terms of payroll and competitiveness. Probably a bottom ~5 payroll over his tenure as a Cleveland executive. They literally couldn't afford to extend star players. Toronto won't be trading Donaldson unless some massive, unexpected, terrible things happen this season. Like, Pillar collides with Travis in the shallow outfield and they both become paraplegics; Aaron Sanchez and Marcus Stroman die in a rap battle; Vlad Guerrero Jr. gets suspended forever because he's literally not human; Alford goes to prison; Tulo and Martin develop coincidental career-ending hip dysplasia; the Teacher's Pension Plan buys the Blue Jays; etc.
  18. Now is the time to whisper extension in his ear, after what he just saw Edwin and Jose go through as 30-something free agents.
  19. What is the max extension you would offer Donaldson today? Assume it covers his last arb (2018) and then X number of free agent years.
  20. I blame Tyler Naquin. I predict you will cut him before June in multiple leagues.
  21. Well yes. Did you win this league?
  22. Looks like your DDL team + Trout lol
