Habs just fired Therrien while in first place!
  2. Happened to me multiple times in the DDL. I waited a few hours and all of a sudden it worked. I didn't do anything different. It was set up as an offline draft keeper. So, just wait half a day and click the button again.
  3. - I am hesitant to care about the methods used in that article, at all - Regardless, it shows essentially average contact management by Sanchez: A great balls-in-play profile but lots of hard contact
  4. I really don't think Aaron Sanchez' mechanics are built to last, so I'll just enjoy his emergence while it lasts and then not be surprised when his arm explodes.
  5. If you think he has the inherent skill of manipulating contact quality, then he was a 5 win pitcher last year. And that's a reasonable opinion to have given his extreme GB skillset.
  6. They are actually 12th in MLB in 3B fWAR since inception. 2B is the worst. 27th in MLB. fWAR hates Alomar's D! LF (24th) C (24th) DH (10th out of 14/15) 1B is the best, 3rd in baseball.
  7. If you look at team Catching fWAR since 1977, Toronto is 24th out of 30. Of course, of the teams they are better than, five are expansion teams from their year or later. The (Devil) Rays only have 12.4 WAR from Catchers The Padres have a LOT of catcher WAR. Gene Tenace, Terry Kennedy, Benito Santiago all have 15+ WAR for them.
  8. Blue Jays Catcher fWAR ranks (minimum 500 PA) Whitt (21.8) Zaun (7.1) Fletcher (6.5) Borders (5.4) Martin (5.3) Martinez (4.5) Charlie O'Brien (3.9) Greg Myers Navarro Ashby Barajas (2.1) JPA (1.2) Tom Wilson Rick Cerone (0.0) lmao Sad!
  9. There is an irreverent, tongue in cheek acronym TINSTAAPP in baseball scouting/evaluting - There is no such thing as a pitching prospect. Because so many break or bust. There is also no such thing as a catching prospect! So many bust, it's so unpredictable. Really prospects just suck in general. Sad!
  10. Even the ones that got away for Toronto such as Perez and d'Arnaud have sucked. TINSTAACP This is why the Martin contract was dope
  11. It's not really a rebuild by z3r0s, because he was never a playoff team previously. It's just more of a slow build, finally coming to fruition.
  12. Sanchez is going to very likely have much worse results this year, and it will confuse a lot of people.
  13. Why do you think it's unprecedented? This is a thing that happens all the time. Younger players commonly break into the league in relief, and it's also not exactly rare for older players with the right skillset to move to the rotation. Lots of arms also obviously bounce between roles at first. I'll let you define good vs. great, who qualifies as a "reliever", and set the definition of "around his age" but: Tanner Roark Carlos Martinez CJ Wilson Marco Estrada (after 2011) Drew Pomeranz Chad Bettis Danny Duffy Jason Hammel (2008) Carlos Carrasco Junior Guerra Lance Lynn (every other good Cardinal SP breaks in as a RP) Justin Masterson I'm sure there are many, many more notable examples if you go back more than a few years.\ Personally I think Tanner Roark and Biagini compare very well in terms of talent, stuff, ceiling.
  14. Win the DDL this year and you can change divisions.
  15. Shortstops are so hot in the trade market. Almost everyone seems to want to either upgrade or hoard SS prospects. You can make a lot of fantasy money by buying and selling at the right times. Most other offensive positions are more rigid and the markets are less workable. SP market is similar to SS, due to attrition and roster capacity.
  16. wat the smell hall of fame is grass, gas, and ass.
  17. I love spring training. The smell of the grass, The crack of the bat, The feeling of hope, The taste of passion, The girly shrieks as elbow ligaments snap, The shockwave of sudden grief from a fanbase. Baseball is back.
  18. KK owned the waiver draft. 1. Maeda 2. Useless Asian, dodged 3. Useless Asian, dodged 4. Fulmer
  19. Well I suppose those guys never really seem like those guys until they become those guys. The good picks will still occur this year, we just won't know until mid-season.
  20. This waiver draft does seem rather weak. I don't even see a lot of great relievers.
