  1. Okay so we’ll almost certainly axe two waiver rounds next year. I don’t think we need to vote on it. Everyone seems to agree that we don’t need 5 rounds. Nobody seems to have an issue with just doing 3 rounds.
  2. It’s a long story and the healing process has been hard for all of us. Best to just accept it and move on
  3. Last years standing except TCA has a permanent five slot penalty It doesn’t need to be set until the draft is over
  4. Leave Yahoo alone! They do their best.
  5. Dinger you needed the OF help because Scotty Schebs is a fourth man this season
  6. Yeah I don't care about the timeline here. He is in Iqaluit or some s*** with almost no internet access. Just at some point before the season, he needs to clean it up.
  7. Maybe you guys can team up in a few years. You can be the brains, he can be the skeleton and liver.
  8. Did thehurl ever cut prospects? or promote/trade two? Looks like he's at 14 now that Ohtani and Maitan need to count I know we discussed it a couple of weeks ago He can pick both Ontanis in the waiver draft in order to open up the one spot if he wants
  9. Mods need to clean it up. It's time to merge all five into one. In The Real-Time Trudeau News Politics Thread lol with Boxcar
  10. But it's just meaningless - history demonstrates that outside the top 5 picks all of these waiver slots have no value or predictive value. If we just finished it sooner and had the season free and open, there could be free agent / trade / waivers activity right now. Just a thought
  11. I say next year we nuke the waiver draft. Maybe just do 40 picks then open up waivers Or even just one round? Or could even do 30 picks hmmm
  12. It's a cool league! First year was 2017. We keep only 4 players, based on their cost the last season + inflation. There is an auction every year. We use FAAB. The worst 4 teams get relegated. Can see more detail here: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/7123-The-Big-League-Gauging-interest-in-a-new-keeper
  13. Swang Wang Oh is how we say it right
  14. Really? I don't see it. Needs to free up that back leg. Doesn't seem like a natural/smooth swing to me. Kind of choppy and mechanical. Overcoached... I bet his girlfriend is ugly.
  15. depth boner who else has one?
  16. Scuba Steve is good
  17. There's no room for the young guys out of the gate unless there is an injury. One of Granderson/Pearce is already on the bench. Then you need the C and very likely both Solarte and Diaz.
  18. The OF depth is so fantastic. Almost too fantastic...

Strong point. Sorry for talking about hockey in a weird way. I'll go back to complaining about goalie interference calls.

Haha if teams actually started doing that en masse, you'd probably see rule changes. I can imagine it being quite boring. But you're probably right, it's better than just grinding for 20 seconds and losing the puck. Surely giving your own team possession at your own net (playing it back and changing 4 players) is better than giving the other team possession at their net (dump and change!)

The thing about shooting from far away and giving up possession doesn't strike me as strictly true, because in hockey with the velocity of shots and the unpredictability of the puck and the chance of tip-ins and deflections, point shots are dangerous enough things that you wouldn't want to just let them through. At least I'd want to see the math about it before telling my players to stop blocking shots. My favourite possible hockey adaptation would be to never draft defenseman. The defensemen as we know them go extinct. I'd only care about offensive forwards and two-way centremen. I'd take my excess/failed/bigger forwards and just make them play defense. My defensive squad would all play like Karlsson/Krug/Ellis/Gardiner.
  22. For the Maitan and Ohtani compensation we said that they "don't count against the prospect limit until they play organized baseball" so Maitan is a normal prospect now. And z3r0s is right about Ohtani. He's just two separate players, divisible if you want. But you (or anyone) needs to own them both in order to use the Ohtani Superpower whereby he only counts as 1 keeper.
