  1. I've gone ahead and given almost everyone commissioner access (you can only appoint 15). Please feel free to click around and make sure s*** is set up correctly. I will not be performing any commissioner duties for quite some time. Don't break anything. Yes Boxy, we will make changes to the handling of minor league players as needed. I did change the written rules a bit when moving them over to Fantrax - did a quick re-write so most of it makes sense in the new environment.
  2. I realize. Was just obvious to me that the Braves were the best pick today until Scherzer wasn’t going. Thought the shade against Soroka / Atlanta had no substance. I know you’re good at stocks and life

They will have 25 available numbers and just hand out jerseys like a high school sports team. You get what we have, Clint!
  4. nvm just checked Waino's statcast page. Wish I went with the Cards.
  5. Wainwright and Sanchez are both mediocre. Ryu and Soroka are both quite good. Both are on the road. Braves offense is good, Cards is okay. Dodgers offense is very good, Nats is good. I don't care about rookie / veteran narrative stuff. All noise. Braves are probably ~55% favourites. I think the Dodgers went from a similar number to maybe 57% or something like that once Scherzer was not starting. Love the false sense of predictive power that some people get just because they own some stocks or have ~20 years experience betting on sports and probably not winning big in the aggregate.

I know, I looked at their list of best players quickly and nobody is good enough or stuck around long enough. It’s Spezza and Mike Fisher arguably as the best combinations of good and team longevity

Number retirement is an honour that *should* be reserved for legends. I have no issue with the Senators honouring their loyal employee in some way but to retire his number is just kind of sad for the franchise.
  8. Are any of the Nats good starters available out of the pen?

Ottawa retiring Chris Phillips’ number? Okay... lmao
  10. Everybody going Astros has me wondering if this is the time to swerve...
  11. This is the big leagues. No bones are being thrown in here. #NoBones
  12. Love yer takes, bro
  13. This is very true. See, for example: http://baseball-farm.com/index.php/2018/11/25/2019-mlb-mock-draft-tldr-at-bottom/ Coincidentally that actually did have Toronto picking Manoah. The rest of it makes your point, though.
  14. Probably a moot point anyway. Sogard had a 2.5 win season and will be looking for at least a platoon gig. In Toronto he'd be (or should be) a pure backup.
  15. The opportunity cost to giving an MLB roster spot to Sogard or someone like Sogard is the opportunity to give a roster spot to an interesting young player with controllable upside, like Valera. I don't think the team is at the competitive point where that makes sense, so I think it's bad process. Also, the organization now has a track record of finding 2019 Eric Sogard types on minor league deals!
  16. He should be paying THEM peanuts!
  17. His wRC+ shocks me every time I check his page. I expect to see like, 85 or something and it was f***ing 66. Nearly the worst hitter in baseball that received 400+ PA. And he's a negative baserunner and defender for his career. seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  18. Bringing back literally Eric Sogard is the wrong response to past events. They should bring in one or two "Eric Sogards" for 2020, though.
  19. I don't understand the Drury part. f***, I'd rather tender Devon Travis a contract.
  20. I don't even think Urena is a decent defensive SS. He's worse than useless. Valera could make the team as the backup MIF. Bench might be Reese, Valera, and two from the glut of s***** outfielders McKinney/Alford/Teo/Fisher/Davis/Drury if he is tendered.
