    Not even close. Habs is a nickname tied to geographic history and a neat little mistake by a former NHL executive, who thought the H in the logo stood for "habitants" rather than hockey. Buds is a just a dumb f***ing leaf reference that doesn't even make a lot of sense. Maybe it would make sense to call the Marlies the Buds, for obvious reasons.

    Groshans content Jordan Groshans is supremely interesting to me. I have heard rumblings he would be ranked around Kelenic if he had stayed healthy last year. What type of ceiling are we talking about? Kiley McDaniel: A bunch of 55s and 60s and performed better than we expected in first year-plus of pro ball. As an amateur, some people would squint and see a Donaldson starter kit and that–a 4-6 WAR 3B–is still the optimistic outcome. I’d expect 2-3 WAR type until we see a little more performance.

    Robbie Erlin signing a minor league deal with Pittsburgh. Can't understand how he does not get a MLB contract. Do players care less these days about MLB vs MiLB deals, if they have confidence in their abilities, see a good path to playing time, and the contract allows a high enough MLB salary when they are on the roster?

    I wouldn't call him savvy. He is a great players' manager and he is not a horrible tactical manager. He's definitely a dying breed though. I'm not surprised he hasn't found another managerial gig; there are a bunch of guys like him for every open position.

    Yeah I think they are set up for more disappointment in Cincinnati. I guess a Lindor acquisition would change the script but right now I don't see it.

    Yeah I guess Reese is an upgrade on Barnhart, and in theory could platoon with Stephenson in the future. Giles + McGuire fits the Reds roster but it's light and not the 2020 impact they would be looking for.

    Yeah I think they are eyeing Lindor and perhaps willing to move Senzel and more. Makes a lot of sense for both teams tbh.

    The Reds are trying to win in part to get Joey Votto into the Hall of Fame (kidding but not really). Can't see that being something they are exploring, as much as a frugal owner would like to shed Votto's deal at this point. Good lord, Votto is still owed 4/$107M too. Can't see Toronto even replying to emails with his name in there.

    Senzel is a great fit for Toronto's roster. 3B/CF! I don't see how the teams line up on a trade though. They might want Giles but Senzel is rich for Giles.
