  1. Hopefully he doesn't immediately walk the guy like last time He is death to lefties and the Stinkies have lots of them
  2. Just do the same thing as before Grind out the at bats so the starters can't go deep. Put the ball in play and let Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez and Outfield Stanton kick the ball around. Hit some dingers off Williams, Weaver, and Doval. Bednar and Fernando Cruz are the tough relievers right now. Come from behind and win every game 9-6
  3. George gets 3 WAR for intangibles. His leadership probably has lifted up other players.
  4. His 164 wRC+ is 45th all time out of 1232 qualified MLB hitter seasons for guys aged 35+, all time. If you shrink the search to 2004 to present to just look at the "post-steroid" era a 164 wRC+ would be #7 out of 235 qualifying age 35+ seasons. And then if you want to get a bit more clear of the steroid era and do 2010 to present, you get this:
  5. Preseason wish list: Bo needs a big bounce back season - CHECK✔️ Springer needs to be useful - CHECK✔️ AND THEN SOME Kirk needs a bounce back season - CHECK✔️ Vlad needs to be good - CHECK✔️ Someone needs to emerge and be the 3B - CHECK✔️ Ernieeee One of the young players needs to breakout and be a regular - CHECK✔️ Barggger The SP need to stay healthy - CHECK✔️ Someone needs to emerge as a viable SP5 - CHECK✔️ Laueeeeer The pen needs to be completely fixed - CHECK✔️ well, until August The team needs to find frontline pitching - Bieber? We will see in October.
  6. Every year the Debbie Downers of 29 fan bases get to say "I told you so" That doesn't make them special or insightful at all It's actually sort of weird on a personal level to consider yourself to be a fan of one team and then carry that persistent non-fan attitude around all the time. Why do that to yourself? It must be uncomfortable. No happiness.
  7. Ah so he's prone to oblique injuries Shame, really. He seemed good.
  8. The current Fangraphs final standings projections are Jays 92 wins, NYY 91 wins, BOS 90 wins. Losing ground in those series could be catastrophic!!!
  9. I guess there are much more extreme examples than Berrios if you turn down the IP cutoff to include non-qualifying SP Kyle Hendricks has a 65 Stuff+ this year and 1.3 fWAR, lol The problem won't be Berrios himself in the coming years. Crafty SP5 types who eat innings are fine. The issue will be if the organization cannot find the frontline SP ahead of him.
  10. Well, if they didn't then there is no way them become qualified MLB SP in any given season!
  11. Sounds like Roman Anthony might have an oblique strain or something. Big news for the division race if it's serious.
  12. Toronto's series against NYY and BOS are must win series. I don't think they can lose those and expect to win the division or get a bye.
  13. Wow, Toronto is limping upwards. Detroit and Houston have really not been good recently. Suddenly, Houston has to defend their own division. Rangers might make the playoffs again. Still a lot to decide in the AL. The NL on the other hand is much less exciting.
  14. 2025 Zack Littell. The only qualified SP with a worse Stuff+ than 2025 Jose Berrios, in the history of Stuff+ !!!!
  15. Other than winning, the positive from last night's game is that it lines Berrios and Lauer up to piggy-back the rest of the way. The Jays would be silly to not take advantage of that. They should be in a hard platoon SP situation with short hooks and matchups played depending on the opponent.
  16. Three more years of this slop. He needs to figure SOMETHING out or else it's going to be pretty ugly. I dunno what that is. New training methos in the offseason to get some velo back? New armslot? New pitches? At least he continues to have plus command. Perhaps he can continue to provide some value as a guy who is in and out of the rotation, like Nick Martinez.
  17. Not sure I have ever seen a 77 Stuff+ I think there must be a measurement mistake? His velo is down 1.1 and 1.4 and 1.9 mph on his fastballs and cutter Down 0.7 in his slurve and up 0.4 on his changeup. This is all bad news but 94 stuff+ to 77 stuff+ kind of bad news??? He has a 70 Stuff+ since July 1st (11 games) Interestingly, SEVEN of the worst EIGHT qualified Stuff+ seasons in recorded history (since 2020) are in 2025. So something has changed with the model this year. Berrios' 2025 would be the second worst ever, behind 2025 Zack Littell. Here are the worst 30 qualified SP seasons ever:
  18. Same as the odds that one of Snell, Glasnow, Ohtani, or Scamamoto get hurt
  19. IKF already starting lmao It's over lads

  21. I don't really think so I mean is he taking Barger or Clement out of the lineup? Or platooning Gimenez with another light hitter? Hard to see it. I think the comments about pinch hitting more aggressively are sincere
  22. IKF should never start a game. That's the litmus test. If he gets a start and it's not because of injuries, we hang John Schneider
  23. Yeah was thinking same Useful extra guy in Sept. Nothing more Can do some of what Ernie does, if Clement's hand gives out at some point
