  1. Moreno is probably more athletic than Rutschman though. And two years younger. He might have a chance of being the more well rounded player, all things considered, even if Rutschman is a captain behind the plate and all that s***
  2. Francisco Mejia was a consensus top 20 guy and ranked as high as 11th and 5th overall, so Moreno should be extremely high
  3. It's possible but not a given. Punctuated experience is inferior to continuous experience for a bunch of different reasons.
  4. No. The lost development time might be a handicap he is never able to get over. And he might have been overrated at times, anyway. Maybe he's made of glass?
  5. Yeah. Don't get me wrong, Moreno is doing something special. He probably does have a slim chance to be a legit star.
  6. Moreno's reasonable future value is not "best catcher in baseball". Think something more like, I dunno, Wilson Contreras.
  7. Lindor waking up?
  8. This is literally true for a rehabbing MLB player. He doesn't have to hustle because the games don't matter. They can do whatever they want in terms of taking him out early, days off, etc because the games don't matter. It is absolutely, one hundred percent, less strenuous than trying to slide into an MLB environment
  9. Almost done upgrading my team. Could be improved by a truly elite RP or two if anyone is selling
  10. Ray isn't allowed to smother the baseball in jizz anymore
  11. Charlie Montoyo is my spirit animal. Smile through the ******** in your life, guys.
  12. Pretty much! Someone might be able to point to a game or two but it would maybe be debatable. It's f***ing tough to properly deploy a s***** bullpen. Three games ago everyone wanted Castro used instead of Chatwood who blew the game... well look at Castro's ERA now. The pen just blows. It's s*** luck. Everyone should bask in it. Life is suffering and we all die. it's kind of funny and cool.
  13. Teams / people in the industry are a lot better at evaluating prospects now though. If you look at top 100 lists from this decade there typically aren't many complete busts in, say, the top 25. Outside of the top 50 is when you start to see the bust rate take off but you'll still see a decent amount of future stars in the 50-100 range. But the vast majority of prospects on your favourite team's top prospects list will break your heart.
  14. No, this is horseshit. Basically every reliever in baseball has a "decorated injury history". For most of them that is why they are relievers. Toronto's depth was fine/normal, they just got completely f***ed by injuries and s***** performances. So far.
  15. "someone who can actually help the pen" has to, you know, exist first. It's not about his timing whatsoever. Were you alive when he came back too early and got hurt again?
  16. Stop whining you f***ing pansies. Wow.
  17. Not sure I like the Jud Fabian note in there though
  18. He meant league average, but let's be honest - Grichuk has a very flimsy skill set and he's like, one tick of lost bat speed or foot speed away from being literally replacement level. There is no upside anymore. I just don't see it. Hope for 2 WAR and pray he doesn't turn into a total pumpkin at some point.
  19. I think Toronto should front run the league and try to extend Charlie now while he isn't super popular. Classic buy low. Maybe a four year extension would do it?
  20. Toronto has also drafted well recently so a pick from offering Semien a QO seems pretty solid.
  21. I don't think they need any bats. Perhaps just a bench bat with great defensive skills. Relievers might be all they need. Could use one frontline starter of course but those are hard trades to make. Not sure they need to trade for SP depth - kind of depends on Pearson and the health of some other guys going forward.
  22. Not comparable. Without looking, I'm guessing that Yankees team projected poorly and they were full of decrepit old farts. They probably had to retool or risk multiple years of mediocrity. Not the case with Toronto. I mean it depends how they play from here to the deadline. If they tank hard then they should sell, sure.
  23. 2nd best run differential in the division 5th best projected winning percentage in MLB rest of season If you throw in the towel and sell Marcus Semien you're a cuck, lol. This is a buy at the deadline team objectively.
  24. Watching the Adams - McGuire tandem for a while shockingly makes one miss Danny Jansen and his adequate mitt / game calling. Mostly the game calling and rapport with the pitchers.
