    He had some really good exit velocities in spring. He can crush the ball. It seems like he profiles as a strong-side platoon corner OF, with plus power. No idea if the defense is any good. He had a strong 2nd half in 2023, he had a 164 wRC+ after July 3rd and then was one of the best hitters in the Fall League (.279/.449/.485; ranked 15/93 in OPS). There might have been some sort of adjustment made during 2023.

    Atkins all offseason. Probably knew Ernie and Davis were studs but didn't want to outright say "we have some total studs we don't want to block" because it would be overconfident or put too much pressure on the boys.

    I guess that's a possibility. Maybe they decided to check the standings around this date and if the O's were already 4 games up and everyone else looked flat they would hold him down and game service time to get 6.69 years of control but if they were in a dog fight they would call him up.

    Vogelbach's raw power is massively overrated, anyway. Horwitz is probably better than Vogelbach at literally f***ing everything other than accruing home runs. The last time Toronto had a AAAA type 1B they did not believe in it was Ryan Noda. Mr. 2.2 WAR Ryan Noda. That Ryan Noda.

    Trying to understand why the Orioles even sent Holliday to AAA. - The corresponding move was the DFA Tony Kemp - He will still accrue a full year of service time in 2024 - He is apparently still eligible to reward to team if he wins ROY .... Did they actually just want to see Mateo + Urias + Kemp for 10 games to figure out who to cut? Or hold them all as long as possible to maintain depth in case someone got hurt? Did they actually just want to see Holliday start at 2B for a week in AAA, to make sure his defense was fine?

    The 2024 Toronto Blue Jays mix-and-match hitters are starting to remind me of the old Raptors Bench Mob FVV, Delon, Siakam, Powell, Poeltl After Turner the Jays WAR leaderboard is IKF, Clement, Biggio, Schneider.

    tbh I do not think Biggio has been having good plate appearances he has not been walking a lot or putting good swings on the ball or making good swing decisions. He has taken strikes down the dick way too often. If you remove his good game #1 where he walked twice and homered, he is hitting .231/.310/.308 with just a 6.9% walk rate his only barrel so far was that home run which barely got out BIG MEH STRONGLY PREFER ERNEST "ROBERTO" CLEMENT(e)

    The fun thing about tonight is that George Kirby and Chris Bassitt have the same mechanics And exactly the same body And they are both deep arsenal guys who can throw anything Bassitt is just the earth 2099 version of George Kirby. He lost his 4 seamer mid-career and became an old two-seamer. That's the difference.
