  1. He will get lots of innings this year The odds of Gausman going down with a shoulder fatigue type injury are rising
  2. Go Conners!
  3. Right that makes sense Espino also has an option so they could send either down and keep everybody However, Cabrera and Espino seem somewhat useful for the big team. Cabrera has barely pitched and at least has strikeout ability and LOOGY utility. Espino throws strikes and can chug innings. White is just good at nothing. His stuff just does not work with his limited command profile. I think he's a lost cause!
  4. Even when they do make the majors and pitch like an Ace their elbows fall off half the time. See Eury Perez, countless others. No point getting excited
  5. Name one person He's a pitching prospect. Most people get it.
  6. I don't think anybody is ignoring it. Seems like all the fans who post here have mild expectations of RT. It would be NICE if he's a frontline SP but I don't get the sense that anybody is expecting that.
  7. I think it would be reasonable to say: - AA is still the #2 GM in franchise history because he took the team further than Atkins ever has, and he woke up the franchise from it's deep 22 year slumber. - AA circa 2015/16 was a worse all-things-considered GM than Atkins right now - if AA had have stayed with Toronto as GM, he would be a better GM right now than Atkins is right now. Like, we can assume at this point that he would have been able to learn some things and rebuilt the team appropriately.
  8. We might see them break RT in as a 3 IP reliever later in 2024, to follow a guy like Bowden Francis. Try to get 4 IP from Francis then 3 IP from Tiedemann. It would basically be the Yusei Kikuchi experience. 3 IP, 60 pitches, 5+ Ks and some walks, hopefully no real damage because the stuff is dominant. Difference is Kikuchi is a vet with a mature arm so he can last for 90 pitches and 5 innings most nights.
  9. Well, yes. Expanded playoffs does mean that Toronto's World Series winning chances are not diminished significantly if Baltimore becomes a dynasty. But it does of course mean winning the division will be a longshot for the next 5 years. So any run has to start with those dogshit wild card matchups.
  10. I don't even know what the Jays (and the rest of the AL East) can hope for at this point, to keep Baltimore from just winning the division every year from 2025 on. Maybe that the new ownership group is kinda dumb and they f*** up some trades or signings? Mets style? I dunno 2024, because they are still so young, there's probably still a chance for the other teams to win the division over them
  11. I hope it's not Francis. He has shown some promise and has a decent K-BB rate right now. The HR rate is not sustainable and I think he can work through this. Options are probably: - Mayza to IL - White cut - Espino cut - Cabrera to IL or cut Personally, I think it's time to move on from Mitch White. He offers the team nothing at this point.
  12. 73 pitches is good to see
  13. Welp. Open and shut case.
  14. stuff is nowhere near prospect grades i think his prospect grades said 60 FB 60 SL 70 CB well, by stuff+ it looks more like 50 FB and 55 breaking balls he added a CUTTER this year that gets a good grade but his FB is grading out worse, I wonder if the action and the way the cutter is thrown has f***ed up his fastball movement and maybe even his slider which graded worse in his first couple turns he is also throwing a SPLITTER. Two new pitches. Pitch mix not working. He is probably confused as f***. sigh another Jose Urquidy
  15. The Royals might actually be good The top 6 in their lineup are all just legitimately good hitters. Witt, Pasta, Melendez are all good young players. Maikel Garcia is sneaky good and has good exit velos. Velazquez is a tank. Sal Perez is a reliable old f***. Frazier + Renroe lengthen the roster and Isbel can field. Ragans is an Ace, they reinforced the rotation with Wacha and Lugo... Marsh and Singer have made some changes... The ALC is a legit 4 team race. Crazy.
  16. well, now you know i don't see how this is complicated!
  17. That would be pretty wild. I don't think so.
  18. Scott Baris, retire bitch
  19. Kikuchi improved his fastball
  20. Just hard to crucify Shohei himself when there were multiple intermediaries, an interpreter, and a language barrier. I understand your perspective though.
  21. I think john havok, King, and TL all did it at times
  22. It just wouldn't be helpful for a few reasons. Updating the list is one more thing the mods have to do. There is already a conglomerate of dorks who think it's their civic duty to ensure the mods are being fair and equitable. I think the list would just give them more to pick at. This really is not a formal legal system or anything. It's not helpful to try and establish precedents and so forth, that just ties the mods' hands when they need to deal with idiots in context. Suffice to say: 1. if someone got banned it is because they broke the rules which are pretty clear. 2. we are not in the business of slapping permanent bans on decent long-time posters. most bans of actual posters will be shorter term (days, maybe a week) unless they do something egregious or they are crossing the line all the time. 3. the mods are not under any obligation to be perfect or even impartial.
  23. I am cautiously excited about a lot of minor leaguers. I know it's early so it's easy to feel good but... AAA Robertson - crushing it Horwitz - doing a Youkilis impersonation Barger - good numbers Jimenez - good numbers Orelvis - holding serve only real slow start is Palmegiani, as far as interesting prospecty types go Y-Rod - good numbers Danner, Little, and Fluharty - good K rates RT had a bad start. Cooke has had a tough time with walks AA Gabriel Martinez, Kasevich, Roden, Hiraldo, and Rainer Nunez all had a good first week. I like the names of some of the pitchers in AA. Just nice to see them healthy and on the mound. Macko, Palmer, Ven Eyk, Pardinho, Burnette, Michael Dominguez... these guys are actual depth. A+ Jace Bohrofen has some hype and is off to a good start. Dasan Brown and Estiven Machado are write-offs at this point I guess I don't know why Ryan Jennings isn't in AA. He probably is promoted early. Rojas is exciting. A Nimmala already has a HR and triple Beltre is here. Doughty will get promoted quickly. Keep an eye on Victor Arias, 20 years old "Arias, 19, was stateside for extended and went back to the DSL to repeat the level, which he crushed. Stocky and wielding plus bat speed, his swing path may not hold up at the upper levels." Keep an eye on Yhoangel Aponte, 20 years old "Aponte, still 17, actually has a little less room for physical projection than Brazoban but impressed scouts during instructs coming off a decent year in the DSL." this is a year old quote Irv Carter Lives We get Landen Maroudis and Juaron Watts-Brown here, which is fun.
  24. Was it Ohtani's agent? I thought it was a "spokesperson" making those initial comments and that spokesperson was a pretty new hire by Ohtani
