  1. It just wouldn't be helpful for a few reasons. Updating the list is one more thing the mods have to do. There is already a conglomerate of dorks who think it's their civic duty to ensure the mods are being fair and equitable. I think the list would just give them more to pick at. This really is not a formal legal system or anything. It's not helpful to try and establish precedents and so forth, that just ties the mods' hands when they need to deal with idiots in context. Suffice to say: 1. if someone got banned it is because they broke the rules which are pretty clear. 2. we are not in the business of slapping permanent bans on decent long-time posters. most bans of actual posters will be shorter term (days, maybe a week) unless they do something egregious or they are crossing the line all the time. 3. the mods are not under any obligation to be perfect or even impartial.
  2. I am cautiously excited about a lot of minor leaguers. I know it's early so it's easy to feel good but... AAA Robertson - crushing it Horwitz - doing a Youkilis impersonation Barger - good numbers Jimenez - good numbers Orelvis - holding serve only real slow start is Palmegiani, as far as interesting prospecty types go Y-Rod - good numbers Danner, Little, and Fluharty - good K rates RT had a bad start. Cooke has had a tough time with walks AA Gabriel Martinez, Kasevich, Roden, Hiraldo, and Rainer Nunez all had a good first week. I like the names of some of the pitchers in AA. Just nice to see them healthy and on the mound. Macko, Palmer, Ven Eyk, Pardinho, Burnette, Michael Dominguez... these guys are actual depth. A+ Jace Bohrofen has some hype and is off to a good start. Dasan Brown and Estiven Machado are write-offs at this point I guess I don't know why Ryan Jennings isn't in AA. He probably is promoted early. Rojas is exciting. A Nimmala already has a HR and triple Beltre is here. Doughty will get promoted quickly. Keep an eye on Victor Arias, 20 years old "Arias, 19, was stateside for extended and went back to the DSL to repeat the level, which he crushed. Stocky and wielding plus bat speed, his swing path may not hold up at the upper levels." Keep an eye on Yhoangel Aponte, 20 years old "Aponte, still 17, actually has a little less room for physical projection than Brazoban but impressed scouts during instructs coming off a decent year in the DSL." this is a year old quote Irv Carter Lives We get Landen Maroudis and Juaron Watts-Brown here, which is fun.
  3. Was it Ohtani's agent? I thought it was a "spokesperson" making those initial comments and that spokesperson was a pretty new hire by Ohtani
  4. He had some really good exit velocities in spring. He can crush the ball. It seems like he profiles as a strong-side platoon corner OF, with plus power. No idea if the defense is any good. He had a strong 2nd half in 2023, he had a 164 wRC+ after July 3rd and then was one of the best hitters in the Fall League (.279/.449/.485; ranked 15/93 in OPS). There might have been some sort of adjustment made during 2023.
  5. Made a channel in Fantrax to post debut Waivers announcements and requests
  6. sure but we dust him for good reason
  7. Yimi Garcia is a f***ing weapon now, wow Hopefully his elbow doesn't pop
  8. 2-0 why is he swinging at a slider on the corner
  9. yeah pearson is a junkballer now I guess
  10. Just feel bad for Varsho at this point. Dude broke completely when he was traded I guess. Sad times for all involved. His swing much be a technical nightmare.
  11. Better at bats here full count, then 108 mph lineout, then 104 mph single
  12. Gilbert seemed dialed in though Is Kevon Keermayer cooked?
  13. squeezed on that walk, thanks ump
  14. Parsons is legit. Cleveland has been ruined by SP injuries. I bet they turn him into a 1 win SP5.
  15. Atkins all offseason. Probably knew Ernie and Davis were studs but didn't want to outright say "we have some total studs we don't want to block" because it would be overconfident or put too much pressure on the boys.
  16. I guess that's a possibility. Maybe they decided to check the standings around this date and if the O's were already 4 games up and everyone else looked flat they would hold him down and game service time to get 6.69 years of control but if they were in a dog fight they would call him up.
  17. Vogelbach's raw power is massively overrated, anyway. Horwitz is probably better than Vogelbach at literally f***ing everything other than accruing home runs. The last time Toronto had a AAAA type 1B they did not believe in it was Ryan Noda. Mr. 2.2 WAR Ryan Noda. That Ryan Noda.
  18. wonder if Kirk's hitting is being hurt by this workload honestly, don't care how much he hits anymore since he's the best defensive C in baseball
  19. Trying to understand why the Orioles even sent Holliday to AAA. - The corresponding move was the DFA Tony Kemp - He will still accrue a full year of service time in 2024 - He is apparently still eligible to reward to team if he wins ROY .... Did they actually just want to see Mateo + Urias + Kemp for 10 games to figure out who to cut? Or hold them all as long as possible to maintain depth in case someone got hurt? Did they actually just want to see Holliday start at 2B for a week in AAA, to make sure his defense was fine?
  20. But are you mentally prepared for him to go to Tampa Bay and have them coach him into a 7 WAR hitter
  21. The 2024 Toronto Blue Jays mix-and-match hitters are starting to remind me of the old Raptors Bench Mob FVV, Delon, Siakam, Powell, Poeltl After Turner the Jays WAR leaderboard is IKF, Clement, Biggio, Schneider.
  22. Such a stud everyone owes Rick Atkins a big apology
  23. He's a much worse hitter than Chat Mappman But he might be less annoying to watch hit.
  24. Only way it's not ominous is if the team sees it as a mental health break
