  1. If George Springer is heating leadoff tomorrow I am done
  2. Fastball had decent figures in small spring sample 94.2 mph 18.2 IVB (decent rise) And the slider had an okay grade. These were his pitch "stuff+" grades in spring (from that tjstats guy, not Eno Sarris' metric) Pitch - count - grade CH 1 95 CU 4 101 FF 11 100 SI 4 94 SL 7 103 So the information right now makes it look like he has 50 grade pitches across the board, perhaps with a chance at a 55/60 FB and a 55/60 breaking ball with some improvements And probably 40 command at best based on MiLB walk rates I think he remains an okay prospect, he's just boring. Could be a kitchen sink LHSP if the command ticks up to a 50 (backend SP). Could be a reliever if the FB/SL combo ticks up from a stuff perspective and command never improves. Not really a 2024 option. Needs more growth.
  3. well it seemed that way in spring but most of them are s***ing the bed or look less interesting right now. Zulu - cut TJ Brock - hasn't pitched. hurt? Cooke - horrible so far Juenger - didn't show plus stuff, really. okay numbers presently. Danner - not striking people out in AAA CJVE - Horrible in AA Pardinho - here is one. elite numbers in AA and he flashed good stuff in spring. Eric Pardinho 9.2 IP, 14 Ks, 1 BB, 1 HR
  4. I would have preferred the 3 year green option to the 2 year option never liked the end result
  5. The organization's overreaction to one tough playoff loss in 2022 may be the biggest mistake they ever made!
  6. RE: 2015 Jays The position player side was definitely elite. The core players were just too good... a few weak bottom of the lineup hitters did not ruin things. The pitching was middle of the pack though. The Price traded helped a lot. The Hawkins/Lowe additions were minimal. The back end of the pen was great though. They ended up surrendering over 6 runs per game to the Royals in that ill fated series. They started RA Dickey in the ALCS and he get whomped. The rotation was kind of icky after Price. You had Dickey, Buehrle in his last season, Estrade with his wonky back. Stroman was a bit of a wild card coming off the surgery that year.
  7. Vlad said in March he wanted to bring back the home run jacket. The Blue Jays killed the jacket before 2023 began. John Schneider said: "It’s time to go from a talented, fun team to a talented, fun team that’s going to scrap and claw and find ways to win games," Schneider said. "It’s a fine line between silly and fun. There’s something to be said about acting like you’ve been there." Perhaps it has nothing to do with the jacket itself but it is curious that when they took away the home run jacket the team stopped hitting home runs. The jacket is silly, but there may be something to be said about incentives and fun and the lizard brains of the adult children who play professional baseball. When you saw the team celebrating with the HR jacket, didn't you want to be part of that? Experience that? LEAGUE RANKS 2021 HR - 1st ISO - 1st Runs - 3rd 2022 HR - 7th ISO - 8th Runs - 4th 2023 HR - 16th ISO - 18th Runs - 14th 2024 HR - 24th ISO - 21st Runs - 25th

Like who? Knies is really good, Woll might be a thing, but some of these other guys in recent years like Robertson, Sandin, Liljegren just seem like poofs who are never going to do much in the playoffs. Maybe they will get 40 points in the regular season or something. Wow, Justin Brazeau was actually a Leafs prospect and you guys let him walk? Insane! I guess Toronto just hates big/tough/fast players who try hard!!!
  9. He's a 7 win DH. Probably a 9 win RF. What's the point of putting him on the mound ever again?

The Bruins keep pulling just enough good young players out of nowhere This Mason Lohrei guy might be a stud Brazeau and Beecher seem like NHL players They have that Matt Poitras guy who had shoulder surgery but seemed good People keep ranking their farm system as the worst in hockey but it keeps producing lol. They have developed guys like Swayman and several others beautifully. Two way player factory. Meanwhile in Leaf land....
  11. I just want a decent team and some fun players, man. Other than a few bright lights like Varsho/Schneider/Kikuchi this team has been a drag to watch. The 2021 and 2022 teams were more entertaining. Breaking up the barrio was a mistake.
  12. f***ing insane what has happened to the bullpen regression and decline exist but the Jays pen went from very good to dogshit, in one offseason wtf man
  13. Yeah this surprised me They are getting 90th percentile outcomes from their SP + they have started making some good transactions again like stealing O'Neill and stealing Wilyer Abreu from the Astros For a bit it looked like they were washed up, cooked. My how the turn tables
  14. He should not be in the majors though What a joke. I can't even really think of what to do with his arsenal at this point. He needs something in between his s***** fastball and s***** slider. 37 year old Lance Lynn is probably the closest half-decent (performance) comp that can be found in many ways and he throws a cutter at 88.
  15. that is shockingly bad 86 stuff+ 89 location+ 98 FB (okay) 85 sinker (brutal) 79 slider (wtf?) he threw 22% fastballs, 40% sinkers, 38% sliders avg velo on his fastball, sinker, and slider was some of the best of his career I don't know what to make of this. The movement profiles must be horrible because by velo, things appear to have a bit more zip than last year. Dude had a 118 stuff+ slider in 2021 and 2022. It vanished overnight.
  16. Nimmala has an 84 wRC+ A few hot weeks and he will be fine. Striking out too much. It's promising that he has a couple homers and a good walk rate. Far from beginning to be worried about his numbers.
  17. Did you come into the world this way or was it like, childhood meningitis or something like that?
  18. He might be the best player on the team and he's cheap / still controllable. Definitely worth a lot, lol.
  19. Probably. Backloaded contract though, coming off a weak offseason for free agents.
  20. The farm system might be good enough to supplement a good team, but it does not have the pieces to kick-start a next window beginning in 2026. If they sell on 2024, they are necessarily selling on 2025 as well since that is part of this core's window. The payroll situation always pointed to a RELOAD for 2026. I really cannot see the correct way forward here. Perhaps a scorched earth rebuild is the way? Trade 'em all including Varsho, Gausman.
  21. Potentially worth a lot: Varsho Bichette (assuming he starts trending in the right direction) Gausman (assuming he starts looking like an Ace again) Worth a good amount: Kikuchi Jansen Romano (assuming he starts looking like himself) Worth something: Garcia Turner Might be worth something to someone? Vlad You might get a B prospect.... or D prospect... or international money... or cash... Richards (if he is shoving before the trade deadline) Biggio Mayza (if he is shoving before the trade deadline) Swanson (if he is shoving before the trade deadline) Cabrera (if he is shoving before the trade deadline) Pearson Someone might take on the contract? Berrios IKF (if someone is desperate for infield D) Green (he has to look great for a bit) KK (a team with no CF) Nobody is touching the contract: Springer Bassitt

Saw some stat, if you measure by series wins in the last decade or so the Leafs are only above like four teams. Tied with a bunch of garbage franchises like the Coyotes with 1 series win. Haha
  23. "Projected pace" meaning add his rest of season projection to his current war 4.5 if you use ZiPS
  24. Varsho is on a projected pace for like 5 WAR Maybe the Moreno trade was great!
