  1. I think there just aren't that many free agent contracts so far this offseason that Toronto would have in fact wanted to give out. They talk to everybody and end up in every rumour but that doesn't mean they are making offers and getting turned down. Soto and Ohtani aside.
  2. Rooker is 30 years old and has made league minimum his whole career and is still subject to three more arb years. Can't blame him for playing it safe and securing his family forever. One injury and it's gone!
  3. Ppl said this last year then they still needed to trade for help they all got hurt
  4. Also, Jays will get THE BEST minor league signings this year. Top of the s*** pile.
  5. Jays farm lowkey underrated If it is possible to both suck and be underrated
  6. Might be another middling move. His velo down a bit, possible he is an SP3 or so going forward. Remaining contract: 2025 32 Seattle Mariners $24,150,000 7.101 2026 33 Seattle Mariners $24,150,000 2027 34 Seattle Mariners $24,150,000 2028 35 Seattle Mariners *$25,000,000 $25M Vesting Option option dependent on time injured between 2025 and 2027 and 2027 I
  7. It can be seen at every level. MLB level, Manoah died, Romano died, the entire bullpen died. Expect Bowden Francis and Y Rod to be sitting 89 in spring. Jake Bloss won't get out of AAA all season. 5.00+ ERA and complete loss of prospect status within 12 months. Adam Macko had a 4.87 ERA in AA last year at 23 years old... and that is a guy who supposedly had a decent year. lol! Trey Yesevage must pray for a trade every night. Oh baby Jesus, trade me to the Mariners, pretty please.
  8. I still think Jim's idea of a "no sub-forums" toggle for users was genius. Make the display optional. If toggled on, all threads in every subforum just get listed by latest activity. I wonder if that is possible.
  9. Every team has a graveyard of pitching prospects You could say that one of the main reasons the Braves have won is because of a few key developmental wins on the SP depth chart. Strider was a huge win (RIP) now they have Schewellenbach who is also very good. And they were very smart on the Sale and Reynaldo deals. Some of the above wins are because of aggressive or progressive decision making. They have SOMETHING going on there that is interesting and good, compared to Toronto's flat developmental track record, even if AA is doing AA things and not completing his 40 man roster optimally.
  10. Hidden temporarily because of bad words I think
  11. I think it depends on how much activity there is. A bunch of subforums without active or high volume posting does not make sense. On the old board we didn't really need a bunch of subforums, and some of our general threads worked fine, because there was not a huge amount of discussion happening. If this place gets way busier then a rumour area could make sense but right now it's just segregation for the sake of segregation and a bit OCD. On a more general note... people just need to be self aware of the obvious conflict of interest. Ownership wants the message board to grow. The old posters liked a place that was familiar and of a certain pace so they probably don't really want it to grow or change. It just is what it is. Things will be different, some people won't like it.
  12. Difference between permanent threads and one time things
  13. The message board dynasty leagues are just a circle jerk with the same 20 dudes participating. Pathetic and sad! They don't even play for money!!!
  14. Honestly who GAF if you don't think something needed a thread. Just... don't respond. It's not like we would delete stupid little threads on the old board. They would just die because nobody replied. Spanky is half of the posts in a thread he dislikes. Irony!
  15. Not how it works exactly He was DFAd yesterday, Dodgers have five days to trade him or else he goes on waivers and could then be claimed
  16. It's in the OTHER BASEBALL subforum now. To be honest, the Around Baseball thread should probably be used less. Just treat the OTHER BASEBALL subforum as the Around Baseball area, so to speak, and make new topics for medium sized news!

Get everyone who has been involved this year or last off the program. Did you see the goal Sennecke scored a couple of weeks ago?
  18. So he wants 5/$100M. That would be gross. How is this for a track record of corner outfield ********: Sign George Springer at age 31 to a big 6 year deal. It does not go very well as he is a below average player for age 33 and 34 and now projects to be for his final two years of pay. Trade for an elite defensive CF and then play him in LF all the time. Trade Teoscar Hernandez because you don't like his profile as a bad D, bat only corner OF. Sign Tony Taters at age 30 to a five year, nine figure deal. Talk about chasing your f***ing tail. If it happens.
  19. Very true. A team trading for Vlad at the deadline would be doing so with the confidence that he is supporting their actual World Series push. Like, they could have 98% playoff odds at the time they acquire him rather than their 70% preseason odds or whatever.
  20. Can't see then doing Vientos Baty+Gilbert+Acuna is a bait package. Lots of name value but not a lot of actual value. Baty has struggled mightily and might just suck. Gilbert was shite last year in AAA. Acuna has a cool brother but had a .299 OBP in AAA.
  21. Something like the Machado trade between BAL and LAD Less than the Soto to NYY deal of course Unless of course the deadline is hot and some team makes a desperate purchase I hope you like Dean Kremer!
  22. Yeah I don't really blame anybody on the Blue Jays side for the Vlad situation. It doesn't seem like he has been willing to sign a reasonable extension at any time.
