  1. to be fair I wouldn't have any idea what to do with them either Kirk is the better framer and total-package defender Kirk can't hit anymore. zero power backup C profile tbh. with a nugget of offensive upside because of what he used to be. Jansen runs so hot/cold. best hitting C in baseball for certain arbitrary sample sizes, but not anymore. and hurt all the time. Jansen needs to play because he's an expiring asset with trade value. Kirk needs to play to figure it out since he's the #1 COTF.
  2. Jansen is an average receiver Kirk is amazing so Jansen just seems bad. Relative.
  3. I don't think Rogers cares as much as the baseball people would The actual tax money is not consequential but resetting all of the penalties is more important for baseball reasons
  4. Personally I think they should Maybe it's Green for nothing and Bassitt for a B prospect KK, nobody is taking his salary even though it's like $3.8M rest of season. Maybe they can clear half of it. Turner, similar things can be said but again maybe they can clear half of it.
  5. They can probably get under the tax without doing dumb s*** like that, even if nobody wants both KK and Turner, but it would mean giving away Bassitt and Green.
  6. Bo: 2024 escalating RIGHT calf strain 2023 RIGHT quad strain 2023 RIGHT knee tendinitis 2022 minor RIGHT foot injury 2020 RIGHT LCL sprain That right stick turning into a f***ing peg leg
  7. He keeps getting minor injuries because his arm can't handle the stress I guess he'll break at some point Maybe they should just do the bold thing and make him a reliever
  8. He keeps getting minor injuries because his arm can't handle the stress I guess he'll break at some point Maybe they should just do the bold thing and make him a reliever
  9. Okay forget about a Bichette trade He has chronic leg soft tissue issues I guess He's a 34 year old Josh Donaldson already
  10. It was almost still rising when it hit the second deck
  11. f***ing missile 117.5mph
  12. Mariners Designate Mike Baumann For Assignment Jays should pick this guy up for free He would be #3 in the current pen by fastball velo, and similar for Stuff+
  13. well at least he's not broken
  14. It was always there but they made it much easier to navigate to in their update
  15. The ROY gamble is pretty remote. Wilson apparently has below average pop so he's not a sure thing star. 6.4 seasons of him might be better than 6 plus that tiny ROY bonus pick gamble. Also the whole marketing argument. As "fans" need something to come watch other than their closer.
  16. It's not a given that he bounces back (enough to have big trade value at least) and it's not a given that there would be a huge market for him next year. The market for shortstops at the trade deadline isn't always super liquid. Sometimes the contenders all have their SS horses in place. All of the projection systems still think he's a good baseball player, that means all of the internal team projection systems probably agree. If there are SS buyers this year, the Jays would be foolish to not consider dealing him.
  17. Exactly and you can even expand this list They have a 40-man tsunami on the way this season and offseason and NEED to clear a lot of pieces out Miguel Vargas - MLB, struggling, young Andy Pages - MLB, young, doing just okay 101 wRC+ Justin Wrobleski - 88 stuff+ for the 23 year old rookie Michael Grove - 27 years old, decent stuff+ but not really for a mostly reliever Kyle Hurt - another old rookie, missed a lot of bats in the minors but stuff+ doesn't love it Gavin Lux - MLB, sucks, couple years of control left James Outman - MLB, 27, sucking, projections are decent though Landon Knack - 102 stuff+ for the 26 year old rook Gavin Stone - good numbers, okay stuff+ 98, 25 year old rookie Buehler - got rocked now on the 15 day IL Dustin May - 60 day IL, offseason 40 man issue Sheehan - TJS Yamamoto - 60 day IL Gonsolin - under control through 2026 I think, 60 day IL right now Graterol - on rehab will soon come off the 60 day IL Connor Brogdon - on 60 day IL with plantar fascitis but has been a good hard throwing RP in the past, still some control Bobby Miller - MANOAH'd!!!!!!! stuff was there, not sure what the f*** his issue was Frasso - on the 40 man and down again River Ryan - will they add him to the 40 man SOON because of team needs? more cloggin Dalton Rushing, Thayron Liranzo, Diego Cartaya - these are all MiLB catchers with top 100 hype and I believe only Cartaya is on the 40 man. Not sure if Rushing needs to be added this offseason. Either way, they have some C prospect depth to deal. I am expecting the Dodgers to deal several of those guys along with prospects and other pieces.
  18. This is like, exactly wrong. The fact that some dudes like Vargas are having bad years makes them trade bait. The teams match up well because LA has too much depth to keep around long term and Toronto has a garage organization that needs everything
  19. Chris Bassitt would slot in on some current contenders here... Orioles - SP3 Boston - SP3? Sort of tied for SP3 I guess. Cleveland - SP2 or SP3 Astros - SP3 or SP4 if Verlander comes back. Royals - SP3 Twins - SP3 tied with Ober? Yankees - Hard one. He is sort of tied with all of Cortes, Gil, and Rodon after Cole. Seattle - maybe SP6 lol Rangers - SP2 tied with Scherzer Atlanta - SP4 or SP5 Mets - SP3 Phillies - SP5 Brewers - SP2? Cardinals - SP2? Dbacks - SP3 or SP2 Dodgers - SP it f***ing depends who is healthy lol at the moment he's SP1 Padres - SP3 or SP4 depending on Darvish Moves the needle on some times but not others. Admittedly he's not a huge upgrade for a lot of these times, like even he's SP3 it's by like 0.2 projected fWAR or 0.2 lower projected ERA or something like that. He's a f***ing good insurance policy though.
  20. Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?
  21. Guy who used to do that was committed to Whitby Shores
  22. Yeah it's posturing If the Dodgers call and actually offer a deep package for Bo, whoever the f*** is making the decisions in Toronto is going to consider it And we know they would love to reset the luxury tax. Dealing Bassitt might be the easiest way of doing that.
  23. Executives keep the more controversial decisions close to the vest. If guys like Gausman or Bo are getting dealt, nobody would really know of those possibilities outside of a small circle. So if it happens it will probably be somewhat sudden, and unexpected. I would not expect tons of rumours. Those deals would be out of nowhere things. No reason for any lower level employees to have any clue right now.
