  1. but why?
  2. It's just weird to me that you guys can watch Ernie Clement be decent in 2024... and watch Yoan Moncada suck for three years... and see that Clement is younger and projects better... and still want to sign Moncada and give him Clement's job? There is no statistical or logical argument for it. Just wishcasting for 24 or 26 year old Moncada.
  3. I mean there's Kim, and Flaherty, but I am guessing you mean we whiff on them too. Honestly it doesn't make sense to sign anybody if Alonso/Bregman/Flaherty/Kim/Scherzer/Pivetta are not options. The incumbents mash together to project for league average-ish production at the weak spots. You could sign like, James McCann and JDM but what does that really accomplish? Anything? I would just dump money into the best RPs left. Get Kenley and Estevez or whoever. Maybe Kyle Hart too?

  5. It's all so tiring Just finish the Alonso deal then sneak sign Flaherty
  6. Bregman for 5 years over Alonso for 3 However, Alonso might have no choice but to choose Toronto whereas Bregman for a reasonable five year deal can probably pick one of four or five teams and it won't be torana
  7. Depends on how many IL spots you have. The dude's other four OF all rank higher in redraft right now
  8. Time to dump Trout, maybe
  9. Agreed He's delusional Santander was realistic and smart What was in store for all of these guys was shown clearly last off-season
  10. I've been interested in Ryan Jennings for a year now. I think he has a chance. It's more of a SP profile though. Maybe he gets a chance in the pen and then it he is okay, some day a chance to stretch out?

  12. Florida guy. Polar Bear nickname. Angels have NO SHOT.
  13. No cap I'm not sure Robert is even worth more than Andres Gimenez was
  14. Yimi + Hoffman + Sandlin is a decent offseason for the pen already. I am not sure it makes sense to make more big additions there. If they want to dump Pop or Nance there are still a bunch of projected upgrades in the FA pile who will be very cheap. Ryan Borucki for $1M Adam Ottavino for $3M Brooks Raley (TJS rehab, probably back in July) I mean there are lots of guys who can upgrade the last spot or two in the pen. Take your pick. Dozens of names.
  15. Ross Atkins is such a slut
  16. The Santander deal has a NPV of like $68M. In an off-season where guys like Max Fried and Willy Adames are getting $200M guaranteed... Just give Boss Atkins his flowers.
  17. The non-Vlad logic for the Mets to walk away from Peter is that they probably think Vientos is a 1B and they don't want to completely clog up 1B and DH. Most teams like to use DH as a flex position these days. Maybe they let Pete Alonso walk then sign Bregman.
  18. 3/$42M Almost exactly what MLBTR and Fangraphs predicted
  19. I don't really think they are comparable purchases Like, Alonso is a hired gun, short term, one dimensional player Vlad would be a 10+ year commitment and just so much more than Alonso both as a hitter and as a marketing asset
  20. Hector edging hard here Edge King
  21. And we all know that in any given season Vlad could literally hit 50+ homers I don't think anyone would be shocked if he turned into a 180 wRC+ guy. Aaron Judge career path. Why not? It could happen. You pay for the upside, sort of.
  22. Alonso + Profar + Scherzer Trade Wags and Clement for some controllable Ace RPs Vlad is the 3B. Pete 1B. DH rotates.
  23. It would not be his ideal role since he has enough pitches to be a SP Avila is basically a poor man's Y Rod
