  1. Yeah I don't trust any offensive numbers from Korea
  2. Who really knows. Fiers throws like 88. If he gives up some homerz in spring training, he could lose the gig, projectable talent be damned. Recall that this isn't the first time that Fiers has "emerged".
  3. Throw is Handsome Jake and Jackie Bradley and we might have a deal...
  4. Yeah he certainly looks like a viable SS, at least in highlight packages https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrmjJs5Ak_Q
  5. lol 4 years for Asdrubal. I guess it's possible when the market is so weak.
  6. Well I might think about moving Steve for Harvey or Correa.
  7. Obviously I like my own side of the trade but I think you might be buying into Pearce a little too strongly. Like I said, Steve Pearce is OTB so make me a wise offer, puta.
  8. A lot of those guys were out of favour on their clubs for relationship reasons but I wouldn't call them "bad eggs" by any means. Only Melky really had any past off the field issues. ECab is a different animal with his issues and with AA's more recent ostensible focus on clubhouse chemistry I really doubt that he's even in consideration. It goes beyond a basic buy-low which is essentially all that Melky, Rasmus, Escobar, and Saunders were (and Morrow).
  9. And Saunders and Smoak! All defensive upgrades, and some of them very significant (at least I'm assuming Donaldson over Lawrie is a numerical defensive upgrade).
  10. lol, I don't think it's a bad trade. Fowler is two years younger and he's a CF eligible who has a long track record of posting decent numbers and had a 124 wRC+ even after leaving Coors. Pearce didn't even get 400 PA last year.
  11. Well, he can read my post, realize he's wrong, but save face by simply never responding.
  12. I know you said you're "done" with the topic, but have a look at the possible equivalents for me. Second Basemen Gordon Beckham (28) Emilio Bonifacio (30) Daniel Descalso (28) Mark Ellis (38) Rafael Furcal (37) Jonathan Herrera (30) Brandon Hicks (29) Kelly Johnson (33) Ed Lucas (33) Ramon Santiago (35) Chris Valaika (29) Rickie Weeks (32) Josh Wilson (34) Shortstops Asdrubal Cabrera (29) Everth Cabrera (28) Stephen Drew (32) Jonathan Herrera (30) Jed Lowrie (31) Ed Lucas (33) John McDonald (40) There's just nothing there even close to Lowrie, other than Asdrubal and maybe Drew. Drew is going to want to sign as a starting SS, so count him out. Cabrera has declined pretty hard in the last two years, ostensibly, and he no longer seems like a league average player. He's a tick below Lowrie, all things considered (similar hitter but much worse defensively) and given the limited talent out there he might get an uncomfortable amount of money.
  13. Implicitly calling yourself a shark is pretty gauche. You're more of a secondary consumer anyway, like a mackerel. Boxy is phytoplankton.
  14. I refuse to use the word biweekly due to gross ambiguity: I mean, c'mon English.
  15. I think he said on twitter that he's doing semi-regular things for the post... weekly or fortnightly.
  16. Facetious PED remarks aside, as much as it makes sense on paper, apparently he's a "bad egg" for reasons that I can't really remember. Maybe it's just the insidious/surreptitious Padres post-breakup propaganda getting to me. AA only likes good eggs.
  17. Jake Fox hit 38 bombs in Mexico last year, kids. Should be good for at least 30 in the show.
  18. That's his favourite type of guy though... You can't punish an alcoholic by giving him a beer.
  19. Moss isn't better than Steve Pearce, lol. Maybe it's a wash, but Steve-o just touched heights that platoony Brandon can't even dream off. Aside from that, yeah, this might be your last kick at the can with an elite offense. Better make the most of it!
  20. Also sign Jake Fox and Caleb Gindl. No reason to overreact to a minor league signing but getting Wilton Lopez on one seems pretty solid. He was a very good reliever for three years in Houston before getting traded to Colorado. Really good GB and BB rates, good enough but not great K rates. 2.8 fWAR from 2010-2012, and he even worked as a closer for a bit. His first year in Colorado his PD stats dipped a bit but he was still effective (0.8 WAR; DIPS around 3.60) In 2014 the Rockies demoted him after 6.1 bad innings. He posted a 3.77 FIP in AAA. His velocity dipped in 2014 but the sample size is tiny, and I think he had surgery to remove loose bodies while in the minors. As the bullpen currently stands, he'd be the 3rd best projected reliever behind Loup and Cecil (3.79 FIP).
  21. I forgot you traded for Abreu... you might be right. C - Pinto v Ramos - You 1B - Votto v Abreu -You (close?) 2B - Walker v Kendrick - Me 3B - Wright v Headley - Me SS - Zobrist v Boogers - Me? CF - Span v Jennings - Me? OF - Gordon v Braun - You OF - Pearce v Choo - Me UTIL - Davis v Trumbo - Me (I probably won't keep 10; Butler+CoCo for you) I dunno. I think I got it.
  22. Yeah 11 s***** bats should do you well
  23. Nah gotta keep OF fluid for the yearly JD Martinez guy
