The next 4 would probably be Pentecost, Osuna, Travis, Castro (or SRF, Nay, Smoral, Smith Jr, Urena, Labourt)... they work as secondary pieces but I can't really see Washington even listening if it doesn't start with Sanchez and/or Pompey.
It'll be interesting to see what GB can get for St.Louis and Streit. I had them on the block for a few weeks and had basically no legitimate offers. Only one person even seemed semi-seriously interested.
If a gyro is a sandwich then a folded pizza is a sandwich. I'm not sure we want to go there, as a culture.
Here's a skill testing question - is an open faced "sandwich" with one slice of bread a sandwich? Or, is this just a misnomer?
Try! Just move along the line until you get to some point where you are as comfortable as possible + you think Washington might click 'accept', depending on Rizzo's mood.
I think Alcantara, in terms of public perception, is a victim of circumstance. If he was in some organization like Toronto with a glaring 2B hole he'd be viewed as a 2BOTF and a lot of people would care less about the projected OBP, since he can conceivably go 15/20 with a decent hit tool and play the middle infield. But in Chicago there's less than no room on the infield so the backdrop for his skillset is very different. Can he even play CF? Who knows. Not everyone slides down and around the spectrum with the saber-grace of a young Ben Zobrist.
Is there a fourth word for Donair/Doner, Shawarma, and Gyro?
If so, and we have four words that mean the same thing, we could rename our divisions for vertical spit meat synonyms.
If not, I suppose we could just name Boxy's division after Falafel.
Or c) the market is more rational than you think and it simply doesn't agree than mean projected WAR * $/WAR is all encompassing as you (we) think.
Ex. With Strasburg, the market could care about and give value to things like:
- Reasonable upside WAR (say 95th percentile WAR)
- Having an true Ace in the playoffs?
- Length of fingers?
Neat!
But, be wary. By the same projected WAR * $/WAR framework, Brett Lawrie is worth more than Strasburg. Would the market agree? Probably not, but I don't know.
Also, your figure would maybe get the point across better if you did accumulated value instead of yearly.
Hi
Please allow AA and I to have the discussion about whether or not any trade offer for Strasburg actually makes sense. That's over your puny heads.
What your job is is to come up with a good crowd sourced hypothetical trade offer. That's your task. Stay on task.
Rob Zepp starting again tonight
He's OTB! Looking for young keeper talent or maybe a pick or alternatively some 2-can-dine coupons from McDonald's this month (didn't get any in the mail, wtf).
Title
Here's how this works - make your hypothetical offers for phenom Stephen Strasburg, we will vote on the most best and realistic via thanks. The offer with the most thanks, I will discuss with AA at our next conversation (we have the same male masseuse).
Believe me, player agents wont be lining up to get lengthy contracts full of deferred money.
It's in the player's best interest to get as much as possible as soon as possible.
