  1. holy moly Yesavage gets a mulligan. The walks must have been contagious and sitting around for that long, in that weather, was probably horrendous.
  2. Honestly, Bo's defense may be more interesting to watch this year than his bat. I don't have a lot of doubts about his ability to hit. Yeah the power comes and goes and we would all like him to pull 28 homers but if he hits .280 with 15 homers as every system expects, that's still a very good hitter for the position in a league where the typical player hits f***ing .239 these days. But the defense is a more interesting question. Fringe defender by scouting reports entering the league and bad metrics in his first two full seasons, 2021 and 2022, including a -7 OAA in 2022 with an even uglier UZR. Different story in 2023. Positive UZR! An OAA of -3 is more palatable. 2024, limited time of course around the injuries, but UZR and OAA were both in the green. Too early in 2025 to tell but he looks solid and has +1 OAA. Anecdotally we do seem a few years removed from him being an obviously bad shortstop. Perceptions of him in terms of a long/big contract are much different if you think he can provide 4 years of shortstop defense at the front end of the deal.
  3. Big Shortstops Age at Big Contract Commencement Seager - 28 Lindor - 28 Machado - 30 Bogaerts - 30 Turner - 30 Bo will be 28. This doesn't mean he deserves 10/$300 but it does mean he has a good argument for a long deal if he has a good season. Maybe it's more like 10/$250.
  4. ez win today why even play the game tbh?
  5. Four pitch lefty with four average pitches. He might actually have five pitches. Pitcherlist hints at cutter, slider, and sweeper. The separator is command. He might be a bit of an artiste. I'll be ecstatic if he's an SP4/5. JP Sears or whatever.
  6. Having Beaston Lucas emerge as a SP out of nowhere has also had the nice side effect of letting them try Y Rod as a one inning RP. To be honest some of you fail to appreciate that Flu and Little are studs. But you'll see soon. You'll see. Little is the new Mayza and Flu is more of the funk that every good bullpen has. I'm not seeing it with Barnes though.
  7. Chirp Schneider any other night but not when it's Garret Crochet okay
  8. MLBTR poll is a landslide Personally I think people are being a bit too dismissive about a Bo extension
  9. probably need another Lucky Lucas game + the $500m man to actually do some stuff with the bat
  10. well, no his xBA is .235 and he has a 33% K rate but his projections are fine and I buy them
  11. The average Blue Jays fan per ChatGPT apparently has two hot dogs and three arms, one of which comes out of his butt
  12. The big question today - does Davis Schneider get a start?
  13. Is Berrios still really good? No. Is he the heart and soul of the Blue Jays anyway? Maybe.
  14. Just the perfect 2024 2025 Blue Jays inning right there Vlad looked great in his first $500m plate appearance
  15. Deep breaths, Laika. It's not your money. Deep breaths. The AAV isn't really that horrendous for a high payroll team. Relax. It's Correa, Burnes, Cole, Strasburg money. Ed Rogers got bent over and gave the player too many years but who geefs a fok about 2036 anyway? Think about it like Ed Rogers getting finessed 11 years from now. Calm down, Laika.
  16. If Vlad doesn't homer tonight I am buying his shirsey and burning it!
  17. There was a legit 5 day window where Toronto maybe could have swapped Vlad for Devers straight up Woulda been nice
  18. It sucks to admit it but the Red Sox offense looks stacked. 7 deep since Campbell and Wilyer Abreu seem to be good players. Berrios vs Crochet is a weight class mismatch so have to hope the Dick does not Fitt(s) tonight and then hope the Jays' LHB can get to Houck on Wednesday. Basically the team with the fewest HR in baseball, the Blue Jays, will need to outslug a good offense this series. Time for Vlad to single handedly win a series!
