  1. Wagner and Roden are such a breath of fresh air. It's probably an overreaction but it really feels like the team's current and mid-term outlook is so much better with them in the fold. Just solid hitters who at worst should be strong side platoon assets. I fear that Davis Schneider's time is almost up. Few more weeks in his current role without some bombs and they should pull the plug. He just doesn't look like an MLB player anymore. Not exactly a direct replacement in AAA though. If only Barger was a RHB. They could go with Stefanic, who is a completely different kind of player and a contact guy / slap hitter. There is still JDM in free agency but I would guess he wants a bigger role than small side platoon / pinch hitter. Jonatan Clase could take his spot but they probably don't want to bring Clase up to have him barely play. They could try out Rainer Nunez or Riley Tirotta. I don't see any other remaining RHB free agents who are worth bringing in.
  2. Fluharty just missed on that pitch to Abrams. Probably gets him out of it's not down the middle. Y'all have no idea. Flu is nasty and him and B Little will be a pair of insane lefties for the next several years. Toronto is stacked and the playoffs will be ez to cake
  3. Otto Lopez is the one that got away isn't he
  4. Depth Charts ROS Vlad 4.4 fWAR Gimenez 4.3 fWAR Bichette 3.8 fWAR Kirk 3.8 fWAR Dude is literally in the same class of player as Kirk, who extended for $58M, Gimenez, who cost nothing but Spooner Horvats, and Bo Bichette who the Blue Jays apparently have no interest in extending at any cost.
  5. Oh he can definitely go 6 innings. It just might be the ugliest 6 innings of his life.
  6. Gimenez MVP SZN And Nicky Sandlin will be the glue guy for the entire bullpen. 75 innings incoming
  7. Devers 0-3 with 3 Ks today. This is insane.
  8. no it was the torpedos! they got torpedo'd by cheaters!
  9. Like a tortoise, slowly but surely, I think Kenley Jansen has crossed the Hall of Fame line in the sand. He already comps well to Wagner. He could end up with 500 saves if he plays in 2026 and stays healthy. # Name Team W L SV G GS IP K/9 BB/9 HR/9 BABIP LOB% GB% HR/FB vFA (pi) ERA xERA FIP xFIP WAR 1 Trevor Hoffman 3 Tms 61 75 601 1034 0 1089.1 9.36 2.54 0.83 .263 76.7% 34.2% 6.4% 86.0 2.87 3.08 3.79 25.9 2 Kenley Jansen 4 Tms 49 36 449 873 0 870.1 12.65 2.74 0.83 .266 79.7% 32.8% 8.9% 93.2 2.56 2.54 2.97 24.8 3 Billy Wagner 5 Tms 47 40 422 853 0 903.0 11.92 2.99 0.82 .261 82.0% 42.4% 9.6% 95.9 2.31 2.73 2.76 24.0
  10. Yankee / Red Sox tactics Just make your own top 100 prospects with the old Hype Machine
  11. lmao hahahahaha lmao
  12. "Multiple scouts I spoke with have everyday grades on Roden based on their looks this spring." oh boy Ross pulled a 50 FV top 100 spect out of his ass
  13. Interestingly, some of the numbers should already be stable, when it comes to average bat speed and swing length. I think these measurements are about as "sticky" as fastball velocity. I'd still give it a couple of weeks. And you never know who might be dealing with a nagging injury or something like that. But Kirk's bat speed being up 3.6 mph on average is probably already significant. He is TRYING to hit for more power and/or did something new in the offseason. Same with Gimenez.
  14. Who remembers when the axe handle bat took the league by storm? Don't really see or hear of it anymore. The torpedo bat makes sense in theory but I am sure there are certain downsides. Pitchers with east-west movement probably have a better time against torpedo users since the end of the bat is more useless than ever. At the end of the day the mass of the bat is a zero sum game.
  15. Some very early Bat Speed information for those who cannot savant Player 2024 2025 Length Change Vlad 75.9 75.3 -0.1 Kirk 70.1 73.7 0.2 Bo 70.4 71.8 -0.2 Springer 71.9 71.7 0.1 Santander 73.1 73.3 0 Gimenez 68.3 70.3 0.1 Kirk swinging faster but also a bit longer (not necessarily good). Bo faster and shorter (nice). Springer incrementally slower and longer (ugh) Gimenez faster. I am sure none of this matters at this point. Probably not enough swings. But, watch Kirk/Bo/Gimenez. Schneider is swinging very short and slow so far. Weird. Clement swinging slow and long (horrible). Wagner and Lukes have very short, contact swings and Lukes is actually fast so far - interesting?. Roden is pretty vanilla in terms of speed and length.
  16. Interesting they are using Yariel here. What is the plan for SP5???
  17. Little might be solid. New Mayza?
  18. Aggressive promotions early, and pray. Bloss, Fluharty, Yesavage promote them all
  19. The Yarborough, Lovelady decisions could not have gone worse. - Yarbro cut because "don't need two long men" - Yarbro immediately signed by division rival to MLB deal - Lovelady loses a game himself - Lovelady cut after being directly responsible for said loss - Scherzer hurt, Yariel to the rotation, now the Jays have no long man
