  1. What dates do you guys like for the cutdown and rule 5 drafts? Cutdown by Feb 15th at midnight, start the rule 5 on the 22nd? Not that it matters much. You can always cut before the deadline and the draft is offline so the start date is not a big deal. I rebooted the league as a "keeper" league so people can just select the keepers that they still own from the end of year rosters last year, and the commissioners will add the rest of your 20.
  2. Yeah I missed your team. With Gallo and Sano, you'd be in that group. I might have one of the best farms as far as "playoff teams" go, but it's all arms so I'm not that excited about it.
  3. wow my apologies. I thought you finished like 11th or something in year1 pretty "impressive" tear down of a playoff team, if you don't mind me saying so
  4. Sammy has a pretty sick farm. Crawford, Tapia, Renfroe, Kolek, Pentecost, Chi-Chi, Robertson, Travis, Alfaro, Piscotty. Deep! Hard to beat Havok's top end of Buxton and Seager though. z3r0s has Giolito and Russell + some other relevant guys. Boxy obviously has a few elite prospects + a stockpile of high picks. At a glance, those might be the top 4 farm systems.
  5. yeah your farm is not great for a cellar-dweller team. Seven guys that could be fantasy relevant but none of them are stud prospects (at least not yet. a couple have a chance to be).
  6. Yeah I'd imagine that it becomes pretty irrelevant when you're never in the playoff race
  7. Pretty nice trade for Colorado. Hale is an extreme groundball guy with two offspeed pitches that have shown the ability to get swinging strikes. He's very undervalued right now. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/toward-a-pitch-arsenal-score-ranking-statistic/
  8. If anybody out there really likes Dalton Pompey, feel free to make an offer. Would probably consider MLB upgrades to C, SP, or RP (RP would need to be elite). Also, maybe a different prospect on the cusp that I like more.
  9. TCA's inquiry to completed trade ratio has to be the highest in the league. I don't think I've ever done a trade with him but he's probably sent me more PMs than anyone else in the league.
  10. Did you try for Urias earlier? When he first got placed OTB we actually had some Scherzer for Urias+ discussions, lol.
  11. You used to work? I thought you just freeloaded professionally until your parents kicked you out in your mid 30s...
  12. Could have been worse. At least Quintana is both young and good.
  13. The way that you used the arrows and language in that graphic was just really not intuitive at all, lol.
  14. At one point in time, Spanky owned both Julio Urias and Daniel Norris, the 1st and 3rd best LHP prospects in baseball right now (mlb.com). He picked Norris 118th overall in the initial draft (I think), and he picked Urias 22nd overall in the 2013 June draft. He traded Urias in 2014 in a 3 team deal that landed him Aaron Sanchez (KK got Urias and a high pick, TCA got Cliff Lee). He also traded Norris in 2014, to Silvergun for Wei Yin Chen and pick #41 (gross). Silvergun traded Norris + his 1st for Odorrizi (rape for Boxy). Boxy traded Norris and Rusney to me for Ryu. I just traded Norris to Kat for Urias. That's the story of how Spanky practically lit two elite LHP prospects on fire, and then they eventually got swapped for each other.
  15. Does anyone remember how exactly Daniel Norris went from Spanky to Boxy? The transaction history on him
  16. I think they wanted to ask him the obvious, hard question. Duqette didn't even try to politicize his answer - you could hear the frustration from him essentially being denied a huge promotion by his current boss. Pretty funny!
  17. The third question was on point and DD's response was very telling. That relationship between him and Angelos is thoroughly broken at this point.
  18. I don't see how you can reasonably rank them 19th when they have 3 top ~50 prospects that are major league ready. The value from those 3 alone should = top half farm. But whatever.
  19. I wouldn't even say that Dahl has more upside. Pederson looks like a legit offensive weapon. We can't simply define upside as the sum of a player's tools. At some point minor league numbers/production need to inform upside just as much as, if not more than, scouting grades do.
  20. That tweet is the very quintessence of Mike Wilner.
  21. Wilner is the absolute worst Toronto media guy for spewing out garbage splits information. I remember when the Jays brought in 37 year old Kevin Millar Wilner got all excited because he "RAKES" lefties. Check his career splits...
  22. I like all of them, to various degrees. Actually Delabar might be the most hopeless on that list in my books...
  23. What's the alternative - a flyball pitcher in the Rogers Centre? It's a lose-lose. Prima facie, no skill set really fits the park/team any better.
