    I hate that they're just replacing 4on4 with 5 minutes of 3on3. They should have done 5 minutes of 4on4 and then dropped down to 3on3 for another 5. Or, if the goal was the have less shootouts, get rid of the point system entirely. Wins and losses - no more points! The NHL is both progressive and stupid, sometimes.

    I don't see this info anywhere. It wouldn't be a dumb move though. Doubront was a league average SP as recently as 2013 and 2012, and Sanchez' best role is a relief pitcher anyway.

    Not being sarcastic here. I think it's a great thought (made even greater by the simplicity - the "why didn't I think of that" factor). I'm not really sure what could be done with the data, but I'm sure quite a bit. For instance, if certain batters are only productive when hitting the ball way out front, a team could throw more offspeed pitches. If the data showed that one of your struggling hitters had a very deep average contact point, then the coaches could work on getting them started earlier. It's just new information. The nerds could figure out what to do with it.

    Congratulations - this is the type of thought that can lead to a brief window if statistical advantage for a major league front office. Too bad you don't belong to one... hopefully somebody who does is reading (wink wink). Should be easy info to get with Statcast.
