  1. f*** I couldn't get Buttholez out of my lineup in time. Watch him torch all 3 ratios for me.

But then how would they supply the grandiosity, and what would the expensive accounting firm do? Also, people don't trust computers.
  6. Not necessarily true. If you can limit his PA and maximize his defensive innings (i.e. use him largely as a late inning replacement) then he comes out as a small plus.
  7. This guy is generally regarded as a fantasy baseball "guru".
  8. Valencia too. Valencia and Tolleson vs a normal RHP are both probably > Goins. Not to mention, Boxberger is a changeup pitcher so his splits are probably reverse. He's (maybe) basically a LHP. Like BTS said too, there was absolutely no reason to pinch hit Navarro for Smoak. A bunch of s***** decisions in a close game.
  9. Maddon probably has projected wOBA on his lineup cards, and knows what it means. Gibby, on the other hand, is the type of guy who doesn't pinch hit for Goins with one out left in a game and him representing the tying run.
  10. So many good players to claw back, lol. Keep Yan Gomes. Keep d'Arnaud and Syndergaard. Keep Marisnick, Alvarez, DeSclafani. Stroman Hutch Syndergaard Alvarez Sanchez Desclafani Happ? Bautista Pompey Saunders? Pillar Marisnick Donaldson Hech (yuck) Travis Edwin Smoak Gomes/d'Arnaud + a lot of money to sign some players.
  11. I'll post this here because it's very interesting. Kiley McDaniel stated today that there are rumours Brady Aiken's injury issues are worse than the "clean TJS" which only dropped guys like Hoffman, Giolito, and Fedde into the mid first round. He said the rumours point to something that could be potentially career threatening, or more mildly just an increased injury risk going forward (structural abnormality?). Toronto picks 29th. I wonder...
  12. I love both leagues. The DDL has a really great group of managers, most importantly. But it also has a nearly perfect cutoff point for players and prospects, where you can field a full team without rostering any pieces of garbage and the top of the free agent list is still semi-interesting. The LOD is like a sim league. You guys are being too hard on Fantrax. It's benefits vs. Yahoo vastly outweigh its burdens. I can get past outdated UI in a second if the website is going to give all of the information and capabilities that Fantrax offers. Yahoo's UI f***ing sucks too. It's tailored for 12 team league newbs who use it on tablets and mobile devices... not great for a deep 20 team dynasty league full of spreadsheeters.
  13. Yeah they probably thought it was just a very mild oblique thing that could go away without rest. The questionable thing for me is that they publicly stated that Tolleson was going to play short against a LHP on Saturday and Reyes would get a scheduled off day. They said that yesterday before the game. If Reyes is banged up and needs a day off, why not take advantage of Goins who you just called up and give Reyes a day off immediately? Just silly. It's also entirely possible that Reyes himself was being stubborn refused to get tested or to take a seat. Maybe he was determined to play through it and avoid yet another DL stint.
  14. The issue, clearly, is that they think Ryan Goins is suitable depth.

Mildly interesting - how the NHL actually conducts the draft lottery now. The machine randomly picks four balls from a tumbler. Each ball has a # on it. Each four number combination has been pre-assigned a team. The amount of combinations that a team is assigned as equal to their odds to win (obviously). So it really is done like a lottery, and the teams with better odds just have more tickets. The whole process is supervised by Ernst & Young. Here is the list of combinations http://www.nhl.com/nhl/en/v3/ext/pdfs/NHL-Lottery-2015-Look-Up-Table-Numerical.pdf In past years Gary Bettman's daughter just picked a team from a hat. Off camera.
  16. Getting contingency players at every position shows a lack of faith in your starters. It's not good for clubhouse chemistry. Do we really want guys like Reyes and Travis looking over their shoulder all the time, worrying if their job will get stolen if they happen to get hurt? I like rosters that put full faith in their main players. You should sink or swim with your big boys.
  17. thanks Dr. Mod. Obviously Reyes injury wasn't "hurting like f***" because he played baseball for like a week with it. Maybe it's the world's smallest rib fracture in recorded history
  18. Where are you seeing 4-6 weeks? From what I'm seeing he's not even going on the DL for sure
  19. Marlins trade update: still stupid
  20. So excited for Yasmany in the Arencibia Classic
  21. The D-Bags say a lot things that aren't true. - Tomas will play 3B - Hill won't start - We don't need a catcher etc etc
