  1. My biggest strength in our 20 team leagues has always been filling out my roster with quality depth. In this league I've always had an easy time finding productive pitchers but a tough time getting great hitters, for whatever reason. Arrieta, Buuchholz and Hammel were all off the pile, but I had to trade Urias, Scherzer, and Stroman for my core bats.
  2. Could be as simple as someone's info on a player being wrong. There haven't been many secrets in the last couple of years but it's not like the reporting field bats 1.000. There will also be pop up guys and Japs and defectors to spend on up until July 2016. It seems dumb to go over by so little for one player, and incur the severe penalties. I know the new CBA in 2016 could potentially change the rules, but still.
  3. Nothing about him, sporting that moustache, is refreshing. His face and his arsenal are both filthy, greasy, and disgusting.
  4. Earlier rumours had Toronto planning to "blow away" their spending limit. Maybe they'll surprise with a couple of other shiny dudes.
  5. Carlos didn't want it bad enough
  6. Carrasco is going to need be up near 130 pitches at the end of this. Tough.
  7. Carrasco so hot that he can't throw strikes anymore

Hmmm, I thought he was better. I was looking at Wins Produced for SGs from that year and he was like ~10th in the league, but I guess that stat would largely be a function of playing time. I understand what you're saying and I agree. Thank you for sort of explaining why Derozan is a complete plug.

If the difference between DD being worth or not worth his contract is a bit of alternative coaching, then hoping that the team replaces him or upgrades on his position seems like misdirected frustration. I think we can all agree that by far their worst starter (player?) from last year was T.Ross, and he's already been supplanted.
  10. I hope the decision of whether or not to give him a spot start wasn't hanging on the results of one AAA game.

Doesn't have great shot Opponents sag off and concede long 2's Demar takes those shots Demar misses many of them Demar suck ok. So what did he do differently in 2013-2014 though? Why did he take less s***** long 2's back then?
  12. Flip Colabello for some international signing money! I guess they could just keep Colabello is the 4th OF, since Pompey and Pillar are both centre fielders. Decent pinch hitter to bring off the bench too. Saunders could be back sort of soon too, which will muddle things up. Colabello just plain will not fit at that point.

Things like this just seem very hand wavy. He looked like a much more effective player in 2013-14, someone that would be worth the money he makes. He must have been doing something differently then.
  14. This guy gets paid to write about fantasy sports: Ray Flowers ‏@BaseballGuys Can't drop another? Pillar June: .365-4-18-13-5 RT @Baseball1Fan1: drop Pillar for Sano?

Really like those little Winnik, Hunwick, and Parenteau contracts for the Leafs. I wonder if they can wriggle out of Phaneuf's contract somehow. Obviously that will be the #1 offseason goal now. With the way the NHL works these days, they'll probably cut big names and salaries this year and be more competitive than ever.

Ugh. Boston is going to be even more annoying. Is Jimmy Hayes any good?
  17. Miguel Sano promoted to the bigs, after posting a 1.000+ OPS in his last 50 games. SVG doesn't need him immediately but with SS eligibility this season he's a pretty tempting instant promote. Also, Preston Tucker no longer looks like a sneaky impact Calhouny guy, lucky for us.
  18. Objectively, right now, the gap between Urias and Glasnow is smaller than Carlos Santana. But the obvious risk is that I've traded the Mexican Kershaw... I think Santana still has some value as a 2nd division 1B. He'll be comparable to a guy like Lucas Duda at that point. Still hoping that he can find his way into some games at 3B this year

Kessel doesn't have a lot of value over his contract in a cap league. This should have been obvious.

How good are Win Shares and VORP for basketball? Relate to baseball WAR plz. Carroll's seem good. Top 5 on his team and would have been top 2/3 in Toronto.
  21. 1 AM trades are the best. Julio Urias to thehurl for Tyler Glasnow and Carlos Santana.
  22. Bad LF Average 1B DH All have negative defensive value. Colabello bleeds runs no matter where you pencil him in. Its just a question of quantity
  23. Two or three starters? That's a lot of depth to give up.
