  1. This is actually a really good point. A lot of kids, especially the really young ones, probably defer way too much to the coaches in the big leagues, assuming that these coaches are the best and they know best.
  2. I agree that putting Osuna and Castro on the team was embarrassing, and reeked of desperation. I wanted them to sign a couple of guys like Jason Grilli all f***ing offseason, lol... The pen is actually 8th in MLB in K/9, 16th in BB/9, 10th in xFIP, and 20th and 19th in ERA and WAR (before today). Not good but I don't really think it's garbage. Cecil and Loup are good relievers. Hendriks looks like a guy. Osuna looks like a guy (some might say unfortunately, if it means he's stuck as an RP forever). Pen isn't the big problem.
  3. s***, I did. Change the = to last place then.
  4. Hard to imagine but probably something like 13 more runs so far IMHO
  5. Hopefully this is the year that Chad Jenkins finds his way out of the organization...
  6. Sanchez + for Hamels is the dream though, right?
  7. True. Rebuilding sucks. It would be preferable if they don't rebuild and instead instantly magically have a dynasty.
  8. Average-ish rotation + best offense in baseball + decent D = playoffs.
  9. Dickey and Buehrle will regress towards their league average-ish career means as the season goes along, Hutch will find it, and Norris has a decent chance of coming back strong and soon if it really is a dead arm issue.
  10. Any talk about trading vets is just garbage right now. The division is wide open. The Jays could conceivably win it with Randy Wolff making 20 starts.
  11. The Miguel Castro Roller Coaster: A ball -> MLB closer -> minor leagues
  12. Castro, Pompey, and Norris all were handed opening day roster spots and given one month worth of rope. Just insane. Hopefully their careers don't suffer, lol.
  13. Cycling through Albers and Copeland in 3 days, both of whom were off the 40, while giving up West in the process really was a mind boggling series of moves. Add it to AA's career highlights.
  14. Didn't you catch his last start? Only 2 ER man!
  15. AA is officially antsy. Lots of add/drops recently.
  16. Lol how is it ********? It sounds like the Yankees foresaw this possibility and specifically built terms into the contract that makes these payouts payable at their discretion based on whether or not they can market the events.
  17. Scherzer may be on the move soon if anyone wants to sneak in an offer and potentially snipe him
  18. Yea I probably would have dealt Berrios. Latino starters < white starters.
  19. Matz is a stud who I have long coveted. Don't think much of Meadows. Boxy's rotation next year will be stacked though
  20. Maybe there is a trade at the 1 yard line
